    Oil Leak Question

My 2014 Denali has a leak that 'appears' to be from the oil filter however, I think that's unlikely. I'm going to crawl underneath the ol' girl this weekend and see if I have the same oil cooler setup as the OP, as this sounds like a more likely source for my leak. thanks OP for sharing your...

    Simple Wideband O2 Location

The factory PCM needs the narrow band to control fueling. The wide band signal is different. There are some wide band setups that send a simulated narrow band signal to the PCM. When I used them a few years back in my SC vette, they weren't that reliable and occasionally would 'hang' which...

Water pump or not... that is my ?

The fact that your lower rad hose is 'tepid' gives me cause for concern. If the engine is at operating temp and the t-stat working correctly the lower hose shouldn't be cool or tepid, unless you've got one hell of a radiator and heat exchange going on.

HVAC on Auto... don't do what I did

Most newer cars have a sensor that prevents the AC compressor from engaging when the ambient temperature is at/near freezing, to prevent damage to the system. The AC light may be on (in some vehicles it blinks) but the AC compressor clutch should not be energized. Your home AC is a little bit...

    What Year is Reliable

2009 or earlier 6.2 is my recommendation. No AFM there and doesn't have the problematic 8-speed tranny the 2015's do.

HVAC on Auto... don't do what I did

Air conditioning (AC) by definition can either heat or cool. The 'conditioning' part of AC, means that moisture is being removed and the temperature either increased or decreased. If it is cold and damp outside I will engage the AC while heating, so that the incoming air has less moisture.

    A better radiator?

The factory radiator (2014 Denali) developed a seep between the radiator and the tank on the driver's side, at ~60K miles. I replaced it with a Spectra Premium (CU2370) last Christmas (2019). No issues and the new radiator was a perfect match/fit, not capping of hoses, etc. The radiator was...

Been Lurking - but looking for some advice

My vote is to find some new mechanics or buy a Honda

Making Yukon look a little more modern?

I'm not a huge fan of the '07-'14 Yukon front clip either (headlights don't do it for me) but on the other hand it doesn't bother me enough to chance the entire front clip, including fenders :)

Whose Escalade Got Stolen Out Of Texas?

I'm still thinking that was a dude. Is it OK to say 'dude' or will that put someone's panties in a twist?

    Constant Blinking Snowflake

That's my guess also. Intermittent connection of ambient air sensor to the control unit. If ambient is out of range (too cold) the snowflake blinks and no AC.

    NNBS Official oem/replica wheel thread

I'm considering Wedge model rims, made by Vision. Anyone have any experience with this brand? My Yukon is black, so I'm not wanting to have all black rims. Either chrome or black with machine finished highlights to add a little bit of color. Here's a pic from the Tire Rack configuration tool.

    NNBS Official oem/replica wheel thread

Interesting thread. I'm looking to replace the OEM wheels on my '14 Denali and wanted t see what other rims (OEM/Replica or aftermarket) 20's would look like.

Need help with 2 issues. Blend door actuator and parasitic battery drain

To confirm your multimeter is setup/reading properly, turn on a small current draw such as the radio or dome light. FYI- A co-worker had an avalanche that was draining the battery every couple of days. It turned out to be the re-circulation fan was stuck on

    Exhaust manifold bolts broken

My 2014 Denali 6.2 already has 2 broken exhaust manifold bolts. I'm waiting until it gets warmer and then get in there and replace all of the bolts with either new bolts or possible studs. My biggest concern is being able to remove the existing bolts without breaking off the heads.

How to make DRLs stay on all the time?

The headlight sockets in my 2009 and 2014 Yukon both showed signs of over heating when I changed the bulbs. I'm no electrical engineer, but I would think that having more lights running on the same circuit at the same time, than the circuit was designed for (think low beams, high beams and fogs...

    Spark plugs and wires

Another vote for getting these parts from Rock auto, unless you are in a hurry. I have wires, plugs and exhaust manifold bolts (6.2 motor) waiting to get installed once the weather starts to cooperate a bit more.

2013 Tahoe with thumping sound in right front

Aside from tires/rims (which are pretty easy to eliminate) my thinking is wheel bearings. Loose/worn tie rod or centering link would likely show up in wobble felt in steering wheel and not a noise isolated to one side of the vehicle.

Coolant leaking from transmission cooler line

After multiple washing of the area and inspections, it now looks like the leak/seep is coming from where the plastic tanks are attached to the radiator. I ordered a Spectra Premium CU2370 radiator (w/oil & trans cooler) from Amazon (~$120/shipped) as I needed the radiator quickly didn't want...
