    Radiator/transmission question

I agree. Sounds more like a transfer case encoder ring or motor. Many times this condition won't trigger a code.

2003 Yukon Speakers went dead then battery drained

Funny that this thread just popped up as I have been dealing with a similar situation on my 2004 GMC Yukon XL. About 2 months ago the 3 1/2 year old battery had gone dead in the Yukon after not being regularly driven for almost a year. I knew I wanted to go to a dual battery setup so that was...

My 2007 LTZ added second aux battery w/ pics

Good looking install. Just finished a similar install on my 2004 GMC Yukon XL. Nice work.

    Radio install options

Crutchfield has a great table that shows which of the aftermarket harnesses/adapters you need for the various functions to operate. It will not specify for PPV but does show functions.

Greetings and Salutations from East Texas.

Nice find! Good looking rig. Looking forward to watching the progress.

    Stuck in 4 wheel low

Transfer case encoder ring will likely be the fix unless there are wiring issues. . It may or may not have codes with these symptoms. I would only use OEM GM parts for this type of repair.

Has anybody found a decent portable compressor/inflator?

Very happy with the 18 volt Milwaukee.

    Replacing my knock sensors

Might also consider a 1 year subscription to alldata DIY if you are just learning. It is well worth the cost as it will save you time and all the procedures, torque specs, etc. are readily available vs. searching for everything individually. As stated above I have also had very good luck with...

Look what we brought home this past weekend

Nice find! Great looking rig. I miss my '96 Suburban. Probably the best vehicle I ever owned.

    2013 PPV Wiring help

If you search for the 2013 upfitter guide it will eventually come up. When I get to a computer I'll try to get the link in a reply. You will have to unwind that tape to find the green wire with the red trader to actuate the flasher mode. Also, if you can locate the police vehicle supplement to...

    What is this part called?

I just replaced them on my 2014 PPV. Ridiculously expensive for what they are. Mine get wiped down weekly with vinyl protectant to try to preserve them!

    Front coil spring

I am dealing with a similar situation on my 2014 PPV. I just used Maxtrac struts, their 2" drop spindles but used my stock front springs. I think the springs are too stiff for those struts. I'm going to research further and try to find some softer springs for the front. I used Maxtrac rear...

Noob from the southern NC Coast

Welcome aboard! Lots of great people and good information here on this forum. Mods do a good job of keeping the bs to a minimum. Beautiful area of NC! We race every year in Morehead City and I spent some time at the lovely Camp Lejeune as a young man. In my opinion these older trucks are well...

    Mevotech TTX update

I don't like to see that as I just did a complete front end rebuild of my 2014 PPV with all TTX parts. It is an on-road vehicle only so hopefully I will have better results. If not I guess I will test the lifetime warranty.

2013 Suburban About To Follow Me Home

Great looking rig! The 2500's are getting more scarce by the day. I have an '04 Yukon XL 2500 with pretty much all the available options for the day. I don't think I will ever sell it. I like everything about it other than the 8.1l fuel economy. My dream vehicle would be a Duraburb but that's...

    1996 Tahoe no crank

Glad you got it figured out. As stated above definitely clean and keep an eye on that positive battery cable terminal. I drove a '96 Suburban for over 20 years and 600k miles and had to deal with that cable a lot. In hindsight I should have just converted to top post and been done with it.

Copper Clad Aluminum wire on an auxiliary battery installation

I use batterycablesusa.com a lot. They are reasonable with high quality USA made wire and fast shipping. You can design any cable with any ends on their site. Excellent crimps with good heat shrink tubing.

    Hello from Eastern NC!

Welcome to the forum! Lots of great people and good information here. Great area in NC! We race in Morehead City every year. It's a smooth water race but still a great time with nice people and friendly atmosphere. About four decades ago I was at a lovely place near there called Camp Lejeune...

    Front seats for a PPV

As stated above the seats will bolt up if they are from the '07-'14 generation of trucks. The wiring harnesses are completely different. Not difficult to get the seat position adjustments to work with some wire hacking but heating and cooling will be a different story. You will also have airbag...

Service 4WD light came on last night, causing shifting problems

Symptoms of a faulty transfer case encoder ring. I would attempt to verify with a good scan tool but it sometimes will not trigger a code unless you catch it during a malfunction.

    Floor Jack Replacement Wheels?

I have a 2.25 ton Chinese jack purchased at Sam's Club in 1992. It has been a great jack but also a teeth-rattling drag out to the driveway. I'm a little obsessive at times so I completely disassembled it and greased every pivot point and the wheels. I noticed there were a few ball bearings...

    2010 Tahoe PPV

I have had several Suburbans, Yukons, and Tahoes with rear heat/ac. If it is hot or cold, you will want it to work. There is no benefit in removing it unless you are building a race car.
