I ordered a new clock spring online & did the install using the attached videos. Be sure to disconnect the battery before removing the airbag, which one of the videos forgets. My upper casing had to come off the column in order to remove the clock spring. There was a Torx bolt that can only be...
Dealer says it's the Steering wheel coil aka clock spring. $995 to have them do it. I can get the part online for $192. + $220 GMC diagnostic fee. Anyone do this before? Pics to follow
All fuses were unfortunately ok. The wiring at the column seems clean & connected. Took a few shots for reference. This is entering an area about my pay grade. Going to seek help.
Thank you! Planning to pull every fuse today, will do this as well. About a year ago a car wash ran the truck through with the sunroof open. Could finally be catching up with me.
12 Yukon Denali all steering wheel controls quit working except for the heated steering wheel. #3 fuse on the side of the dash is for steering wheel backlight. I don’t see any other fuses for the steering wheel. Anyone experience this that can advise where to start?
All not working:

Found it above the map light/sunroof switch console. I was able to beat on it & nurse it closed 2” at a time. Sounds like I need a new motor. Let me know if anyone thinks differently.
Sunroof is stuck open. Can anybody point me in the right direction for fuse location and manual close? I’m on a road trip and really need to get this thing closed ASAP.
Hot check on the tranny fluid was showing at the top of cold on the dipstick so I added 1/4 Qof fluid. Will continue to check/add 1/4 Q until back in the full range.
No leaks from the tightened down worm clamps, but I do have the tension pack on order.
I drove up from Key West to near Fort Lauderdale today… About 3 1/2 hours in the truck speeds from 45 to 85 miles an hour and I think the highest temp I saw was 171. Many times it was down just above or below 150. I’ll end up doing some hills as I work my way out of Florida. Hopefully it stays...
The invoice doesn’t say, but I remember the owner of the shop saying they significantly upsized it.
I'm driving from Key West to Nashville over the next few days so I'll have a good amount of transmission temp data.
Good advice with the pen. I'll do that today. I've been keeping an eye on it & it's actually slightly above the "full" mark. I'm starting to realize the sweet smell may actually be the tranny fluid.
Do you guys think it's normal that those old lines keep spitting fluid?
Thanks for engaging.. I'm learning already.
What was the result when you took it out of the circuit? I've been running like this since December but every time I crawl under to change the oil I notice the trans fluid reside. Either way I'm going to tape off the cut hoses & clean up the trans...
12 Denali 2WD 6.2L
Aamco rebuilt the transmission, abandoned the original trans cooler, & added an external cooler. They didn’t close off the old lines & sometimes I get trans fluid from them (nothing significant) I also smell coolant if I hammer down on the gas at highway speeds, but all hoses...
UPDATE: Everyhting came back to life & is holding up. Had the rear A/C control replaced at the dealer (they said it shorted) $632! Now working with the car wash for reimbursement. Hopefully they don't make it too ******* themselves.
