Michelin defender ltx vs ltx premier

i currently have 25k on the Premier LTXs(20") on our 15 XL. THey won't even come close to lasting the rated 60k, but otherwise have been great. Very smooth and quiet. However, if I were to buy it again, which I might when switching wheels, I'd probably go with the Defender as the Premiers...

In need of a new SUV

We have buckets as well with carseats and have zero issues regarding fitment. We had the middle bench but swapped it out with chairs shortly after purchasing as the bench is annoying if you have 2+ kids. some disagree, but if the 3rd row is used daily, the captain chairs are the only way to go...

New 24" Wheels on 15' Denali XL (lots of pics)

Ha, true. However I wouldn't consider my yukon a suit unless I drove it to a car show a few Times a week and it stayed parked most of the day. With driving it daily and racking up 20k+miles per Year, i picture khakis, button down with casual leathers or sneakers. :waytogo:

2016 Denali XL - GMC Refused to buyback!

We we replaced theboem with Michelin premiers in the 20" size and made sure they were road forced under 15lbs. Anything over and we had horrible buffeting/pressure. There are lots of things that might initiate the buffeting but tires are one of the obvious and strongest culprits. The oem...

2016 Denali XL - GMC Refused to buyback!

There are also nearly 400 folks on FB reporting similar problems. I think its well documentated that some just don't feel the buffeting. I would say 50% of folks that ride in our yukon feel it. 2 of my 4 kids are seriously bothered by it while the other two are fine. I have yet to drive one...

If you really want to be discouraged and want to do a lot of reading, go read the 177 page thread on a different forum surrounding the same issue. The same can be said for the escalade sites. So sad...

New 24" Wheels on 15' Denali XL (lots of pics)

I can't imagine running on 24s...my oem 22s were like rocks and even the oem 20s i'm running now are pretty harsh. unless you're coming from a 10-15yr old vehicle, these trucks ride like crap with 20s or larger, imo.

2016 Denali XL - GMC Refused to buyback!

vibrations and buffeting...which hasn't been fixed for 3 (years) model runs now. pathetic. GM will get slammed once the new expedition and Navi are released! I have a feeling they will lose a huge market share in the large SUV segment over the next 3yrs. .

Looking to buy new 2017 Yukon

possible given the denali has been available since spring of 2014....and if he/she is still set on one. I know I've waited for '16 and '17 model run to trade our 15 XL in and have yet to do it as the buffeting has not been fixed. .

What is the chance that GM would fix the vibration/buffeting issue in 2017 models?

I'll be checking once they arrive along with the '18 expedition/navigator. Hopefully GM quietly resolved the issue.

2016 Denali XL - GMC Refused to buyback!

I am not sure between the yukon and expedition but I feel the expedition has a much better more complete look compared to chevy's front. The rear is so so but overall not bad and will hold judgment until I drive one. I'm sure the ride will be great given the IRS. Outside of the wheels, the...

2016 Denali XL - GMC Refused to buyback!

Have you always had the 22s? I dropped down to 20s (with new michelins) on ours and I am considering putting the 22s back on with new michelins but I'm a little worried as the 22s were horrible before but they also had half worn bridgestones. 90% of our issues were improved with the michelins...

2016 Denali XL - GMC Refused to buyback!

This is his 2nd truck, so I'm guessing he's aware of that piece. I only drive ours in "M" mode but still have droaning/bufffeting problems. tenbigblinds - Have you driven other XLs on the dealer's lot to compare? .

Yep! Been dealing with the same and with several dealers. Unfortunately, The dealers are stuck with GM's lack of effort for a fix and pathetic engineering! .

I'm going to guess that the vibration will be improved or gone and the buffeting will still exist. .

High Miles 2015+ Tahoes or Yukons?

Basically a pop clicking feel when turning at low speeds. The wheel does feel like it slips or is off track or something. From everything I've researched, there is a bulletin on it and involves replacing a sleeve, bearing race, and spring. I'm 90% certain this is our issue and may attempt to...

2015 LTZ with a couple gremlins

well, the $5k included the upper and lower control arms which are very pricey. Sorry to hear but have to say not I'm not surprised given what we went through. The steering wheel problem are a known issue and plagued a good percentage of 1st half 15 models but yet they are not willing to do a...

    For those who went Michelin....

I am running the Premier in the oem 20" size and I wish I had gone with the Defender as I think the premier looks too much like a passenger sedan tire. The stance actually looks smaller than the oem tires. I'm considering throwing the 22" wheels back on truck and will order the defenders this...

High Miles 2015+ Tahoes or Yukons?

57k on our 15 yukon XL SLT and we are debating whether or not to dump $$ into it or take a hit and unload it. Unfortunately, the used market seems to be flooded with 15+ yukons/tahoes/escalades. -buffeting/vibrations (have been able to resolve these issues myself for the time being)...Make...

2015 LTZ with a couple gremlins

I don't mean to bash either but it's beyond frustrating dealing with these type of issues, especially when GM is not willing to assist in any way. A few months back, we dropped our yukon off for reg service and mentioned that there were some leaks and when we picked up we had a quote of $5k in...
