Anytime truck comes within inches or hits a road line it buzzes...edges of roads , when making any cross traffic turns, any center line, passing lane, etc. Every truck I've been in has operated the same way. Is this not normal?
We need to have ours replaced as well and I was told typically they run $300-$500 depending on options. Waiting until spring season before having it done. No way do they cost $3k. lol
.
yeah, I think it's a huge waste and annoying more than anything. Maybe if I drive for a living and drive often through the night it might be worth having, maybe. I have had ours off since 1st week of ownership and actually removed one of the sensors as it was causing the seat to become...
not sure that's the case...in addition to our buffeting/vibrating/booming issues, we have a tranny oil leak and oil leak (bad hose) as well as bad upper and lower control-arms all at 50k miles! My dealer is telling me that they've seen a lot of these truck with bad control arms at low miles...
Count yourself fortunate...although, the SWB doesn't seem to have the problems like the extended versions.
There's a reason it is has the highest number of "buy backs" ever by GM. There are way too many dealing with the same issue with these trucks. I wish we had better luck with ours as...
interesting...We had the rear ring and pinion replaced in ours about 20k miles ago and I noticed lately that it's starting to whine again. We had the new wheels and tires installed at the same time so I really couldn't say whether or not it assisted in reducing the buffeting/vibration.
I know it was the swb, but did you have any issues with your 15? It shouldn't be the case, but I bet your oem tires are junk and can't get balanced low enough to band-aid the problem. There is something with a lot of these trucks that very little input from road/chassis creates the...
It's been well documented that these trucks in all wheels sizes have had the issue. Of course the larger wheel size makes balancing a bigger issue. I've had 18", 20", and 22" and they all buffeted. i ended up sticking with 20" with new michelins and it helped dramatically, however, 10k miles...
Many of us have driven many, many trucks and experienced the issue in all of them, so I would have to disagree and say it's a very common issue. I had planned on trading-in our 15 two different times on a 16 until I did several test drives.
maybe not so common with the short wheel base.
Please do share once you get them installed. I would prefer the LED route vs HID setup, but I attempted the LEDs and didn't care for the lack of focus and depth provided. AngelXL's pics he shared comparing the yukon to his GX clearly show the difference as the center intense part of the beam...
nope, oem 22 and 20" wheels and tires. majority of miles were with 20 denali wheels and oem size tires. GM has agreed to cover approx 60% (which is a joke) of costs. I am now seeking a 2nd opinion from a different dealer.
I agree if we were talking in general terms but we aren't. He's asking about a 2015. The 22" on my 08 tahoe were much better than 22s on our current yukon xl. Hitting a crease in the road at 70mph is entirely different feeling with our current truck then it was with the '08. Hell, I'd say...
I have had both and currently I'm running denali 20" with factory size tires (michelin Premier LTX) mainly because we were dealing with the buffeting issues and thought the 20" might help. I've considered going back to the 22 but haven't done so yet. The 22" do look better but as other have...
well, the line leaks and steering issues are legit. The control arms being bad are the only questionable items. My bigger point is that these things are occurring on a 2.5yr old truck and dealer doesn't seem to think it's unusual and it's not a warranty item being out of the 36k. I'm in the...
Has anyone else had control arm (bushings) go bad prematurely, or have high pressure hose leaks?
I Dropped our 15 yukon xl off for service last week for oil change as well as a few other misc issues. Steering clicking popping, recall, and to check a possible oil leak.
So I pick up truck and...
make sure you test drive (for days) whichever one you decide on since buying preowned. I'm sure you've already read uo on the issues, but many and I mean many of these have been GM buybacks due to buffeting and vibration issues. Drive it for a few days and make sure it's good for you.
wireless charger plug? I've read where the existing plugs / harness are there and it's an easy plug and play for folks that want to add the wireless console lid. new lid is pricey and probably isn't worth it but I remember seeing the mod done on here by someone.
how easy is it to pull and get into door panel? I hate removing panels knowing that it may never be the same when re installing. Our window switch panel creeks and seems loose and drives me nuts.
