Those with 22" wheels and tires on your suburbans

What do you think of them? How harsh are they? Would you prefer and if you were able, did you switch back to 20" tires.

I saw a set of factory 22" wheels that looked great and filled the wheel wells nicely. Sorry I can't post pictures. Don't know how?

I live up In NY pot holes and the roads are crazy. So I stick with my 20" but if I live some please like down in Miami Florida. I'll be all over 22" or 24".
Simple just hit the button upload file right bottom corner and that takes you to your files on your phone or PC. Look for the picture and hit done.

What size tire is that? That looks like a really low profile tire. Small for the truck.

Most likely it's a 285/45/22 which I do think is to small for the truck... needs a 285/55/22

That might look better but the difference in rolling radius will make your speedometer (and odometer) non-trivially inaccurate. When the truck says 70 MPH, you will actually be doing 74.8 MPH. Here is the calculator tool.

I imagine it may be possible to have the computer recalibrated to understand the larger wheel size, but I am not sure how to go about it. It would be something to consider with a tire size jump that large, IMO.

The total rolling radius of the OEM 275/55/20 tires and the OEM 285/45/22 tires are within 1% of each other, so you could switch back and forth with no significant impact.

I have had both and currently I'm running denali 20" with factory size tires (michelin Premier LTX) mainly because we were dealing with the buffeting issues and thought the 20" might help. I've considered going back to the 22 but haven't done so yet. The 22" do look better but as other have stated I don't care for the rubber band tire look of the 285/45/22, especially on a truck. I think the 285/55/22 would look perfect but then you do have to deal with the inaccuracy.

The 22" were a little harsher but, IMO, these these ride like a brick to begin with.

So drive 66mph and you will be going 70mph. Problem fixed lol.

On my truck Going from 265/70/17 which is like a 31.5" tire to a 305/30-26 which is 33"+ tire my speedo is like 2-3mph off over 60mph... not a big deal at all and will NEVER cause any problems.

Been running 22's on mine for years now and no issues. I had 20's prior to that and really noticed no change in ride quality between the 20's and the 22's.

^^I agree but the 15+ are a different animal. Much firmer ride to begin with than previous design, IMO.
