Tired of your iO3 radio? Call these guys.

I had the guy here in Houston that put in my Emergengy Lights install it. He said it was extremely straightforward, and they provide a real time walk through as well. No need to ship your car. If you're around Houston PM me and I can hook you up with my installer. He has done a few of them...

Tired of your iO3 radio? Call these guys.

I bought my '17 PPV and love every bit of it......except that crappy iO3 radio. The Dealer had an option to upgrade to an 8" Pioneer aftermarket radio, but it wouldn't utilize the factory buttons. So I did some hunting, and found these guys: https://www.gm-navigation.com/ They don't have it...

PPV: any difference in the suspension?

Common misconception - Not exactly. Tony's kit has a similar lowering effect, but the physical parts (shocks/struts/springs) are not the same. Different manufacturer and style. I can take some pictures to show you if you want - I ordered his kit for my '13 PPV hoping it would soften it up a...

    Tahoe PPV Tires

I sold the 2013 to a friend of mine and bought a new 2017 - but I talk to him enough to know that the tires are still holding up very well. They have about 30k miles on them and still have about half the tread left. Still quiet and comfortable, no issues.

PPV / SSV / Admin Package Owners - What do you Think?

Well, I went ahead and made the upgrade from a 2013 to a 2017. What a difference!! I liked my 2013 a lot, but this thing is in an entierly different league. I purchased a Silver PPV with tow package, remote start, and the civilian console....it's nice to feel like I'm driving a "normal" car...

PPV / SSV / Admin Package Owners - What do you Think?

Hey everyone, I currently have a 2013 Tahoe PPV. I have an opportunity to buy a new 2016/2017 Tahoe in either the PPV or Admin package, and want to see if anyone else has either made a similar move, or has the newer Admin/PPV package and cares to share their thoughts. My goal is to grab one...

Police Tahoe Package-Anything special with the engine?

The 4x4 version is called the SSV. Our neighboring FD uses the SSV Suburbans, they seem to love them. I agree with you on the top speed - even in an emergency response I can't imagine a situation where I could get to 140 mph with "due regard." The PPV also has an option for a locking rear...

Police Tahoe Package-Anything special with the engine?

Higher top speed (via a shorter differential gear), bigger brakes, and a lower stance. That's about it. A few other minor electrical changes to support the extra gear, but nothing that benefits performance.

Odd Vacuum / Exhaust Leak type noise in 2013 PPV

Hello Everyone, I have a 2013 Tahoe PPV 5.3. It's completely stock except for an ECU tune. I'm experiencing a noise from the engine bay that, while it doesn't seem to affect performance, is very annoying. I'm stumped as to what could be causing it, so I'm hoping someone else has had a...

    Tahoe PPV (police package)

This thread applies to the 2007-2014 PPV's, yours may be slightly different.

    Tahoe PPV (police package)

I sent 04BUCKET a PM with some extra details...but the Bilsteins 5100s fixed my shaking/unsettled chassis issues. Rides a thousand times better. My brake rotors are warped, which can be attributed for some of the shake, but the Bilsteins took care of most of the issue. The vehicle is also...

Certainly could be. Boarder Patrol raise theirs. And cut the bumper in half. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tahoe PPV (police package)

It's your shocks/struts. The stock PPV shocks/struts arent really valved right for the truck, and can't control the wheels/tires (especially if you use anything other than the Goodyear Eagles) very well, especially at speed. I'm swapping to Bilstein 4600's next week in my department truck...

How To: Trailer Hitch on Tahoe PPV

I tow our department's antique show vehicle on an 18 foot trailer to PR events every once in a while, and it does just fine. Transmission temperatures never break 200, even in Texas summers. You'll need a brake controller. I bought this one...

    Tahoe PPV (police package)

SSV isn't lowered. Do you have a SSV or a PPV? Measure from the ground to the top of the wheel well and give us the result in inches.

2011 Tahoe PPV - Please advise...

What Sanco said is true. If you can, try to find either a personally owned ("Detective") vehicle, as they're usually just driven, not idled for hours. And since they're owned by the individual, not the agency...so he/she will likely put more care into its maintenance. If that fails, Fire Dept...

    Tahoe PPV (police package)

It APPEARS to be the same, becuase we have smaller tires than the standard LT...which makes it deceiving to the eye. If you actually get a tape measurer and measure ground to top of the wheel well, you'll see a 1" difference in the front and 2" in the back on LT vs PPV. Power train more or...

    Tahoe PPV (police package)

You'd need Standard LT length front struts and rear shocks/springs to install that stuff. They're counting on the car already being at the standard ride height to achieve the 3.5" lift. If you used that kit with your current PPV shocks and springs, you'd get 1.5" over factory in the back, and...

    Tahoe PPV (police package)

...Do you mean lifting it to a little more than stock PPV height, or stock LT height? The PPV is 2 inches lower in the back, and 1 inch lower in the front than a standard Tahoe.

2011 Tahoe PPV - Please advise...

This: http://www.belltech.com/products/belltech/shocks/shock-set-14048.html The PPV is 1" lower in the front and 2" lower in the back than a standard LS from the factory, so these are ideal. That's what is on my vehicle right now.

2011 Tahoe PPV - Please advise...

OP, if you find that the suspension is to harsh, I recommend you buy Belltech's shocks - they are a direct replacement and soften up the ride quite a bit. That's what I have on my PPV...I don't do pursuits and don't need all that extra stiffness.

    Tahoe PPV Tires

The Continentals do their job well at their price point. We aren't doing any high speed pursuits obviously, just clearing the way to a fire...so as long as they can take an aggressive turn without excess under-steer and hop a curb, I'm pleased. I do like the tread pattern on the Nitto's...

    Towing with a Tahoe PPV?

We talked about this earlier in this thread I believe. If not here, than in another. The Curt hangs below the rear bumper. The PPV is 2 inches lower than standard already. If you put any tongue weight on that trailer, you're going to be dragging chains or have a very limited approach angle...

    Tahoe PPV Tires

Howdy, neighbor! I stand by those tires I recommended. They're on my truck now if you want to see them. So much quieter, and I haven't had an issue with them when running code 3 or towing either. Btw I have a push bumper in my garage if you want it. I don't intend on using it. Sent from...
