99 K1500. I’ve done some research since posting my question. It sounds like it should turn like it is, that it doesn’t lock in. Anyone care to chime in?- Dave Sirmans

I bought this Tahoe believing it to have a CV axle problem. I’m not so sure now. I’ve got it jacked up, I’m in the middle of trying to change the CV axle and I noticed that the end of the CV halfshaft that is attached to the differential turns freely.
