They prob never drive. They r special needs but very high functioning but not likely to drive. So we will chauffeur for a long time. Thus the vehicle issues.
But....told wifey that I would have to have a shed in order to fit 2ft longer vehicle in garage.
If she wants xl length bad enough then I get my shed. Ha!
Short kids? Haha.
I have 2 boys 6'1 and 6'4 and I'm 6'2. And a daughter and then whatever friend tags along. It's become more of an issue as they grew. Younger and shortter no big deal. But now I have to rethink things a lot.
Mentioned minivan to wifey and she truly frowned on a thought of...
Very awesome idea!
We've been kicking around captains chairs on a short box or sizing up to suburban to solve the 3rd row issue.
No final decision yet. That would mean parting with my yukon I've put lots of work and thought into or keeping it and selling my car, thus having 2 larger vehicles...
Suppose I get a unit with captains chairs that allows good access to 3rd row. Then the 3rd row person still has their knees up....no way around that, correct?
My hope was a newer unit had lower floor.
So I like my 2001.
I hate the 3rd row design that your legs are in your nose because the seats sit so close to floor.
I thought I saw models with that issue changed and have been looking again and can't find them.
We're taking maybe getting another tahoe or yukon but the lack of head...
So....the knock sensors are under the 2 round black covers that have the white wires, correct?
And why would I see oil on the front portion of that flat rectangular cover plate? I did valve covers a couple yrs ago and still get seepage in the middle flat portion under the butterfly.
Edit: ok...
We've had 3 lines go on vehicles in our house due to rust over the years. I dont understand as much of a safety item the lines are that they arent stainless from the factory. Seems like it should be a requirement???
There's a lot I don't know. Like what's a valley pan gasket?
But what I do know is many have had the fittings go bad at the heater core. One of yours looked yellowish and it may be something to consider. Just my $.02.
But really...what's the valley gasket?
My best friend and his buddy helped me. I need to name them big red and little red.
My late father in law used to say you're cool with the right tool. Well, I'm not cool but these are the best. Just got them last year. Oh my...what a blessing they are.
The little light is way better than you...
Did the following that took some time but needed to be done.
Replaced:
R&R gearbox with rebuilt.
Steering cooler
High pressure steering line
Idler arm
Idler bracket
Pitman arm
Inner tie rods
Outer tie rods
Serviced front brakes. Lubed pins. Fixed issue with pads not sliding correct in...
So I got all my tie rods delivered yesterday and now installed.
Test drove and I LOVE IT !!!!
Steering is waaayyyy tighter and nice now.
I hope steering stays this way. I am so glad I got this stuff done. Marveious improvement.
That's my thought as well. There might be some inventory that they are pulling from but there cannot be any significant volume of vehicles produced.
These trucks are loaded w/ features and so our products would be needed for most, if not all, of these trucks and we "aint makin' nothin'".
Don't...
Ok. One other question.
Some say that it leaks at the m. cylinder and they get brake fluid all over. Is this in certain situations w/ poor seal or....??? how can this be prevented other than using it dry and keep filling the reservoir?
I'm not familiar w/ the motive. I do the "helper" method.
I researched on amazon. Seems nice.
So, if you DON'T fill the container w/ brake fluid you just run it dry and keep checking reservoir and if low then release motive air pressure and top off reservoir and start again? So do this maybe...
Interesting. I work for a company that supplies GM and we are producing zero or next to zero for them. In fact hardly anything for anyone.
Maybe a little for Toyota and some other oems but auto is dead right now.
So after few more hours....I got it all done except for the tie rods I am waiting delivery on. Half done w/ air purging. Will finish that after tie rods and drop the truck down. Still in the air now.
PS cooler
Idler arm & mount
Pitman arm
Gearbox
HP strg hose
Tie rods x4
Any body know how...
They might take the core. Didn't contact them. I wanted the dust shield because I believe it serves a purpose albeit maybe a minor one but spending what I did on the rebuilt one I didn't want to introduce problems to it.
I'd have to pay return core shipping so its not a huge deal....but still...
Got it !!!!
Got old arm off and dust seal on new.
Whacked it all around hard. Hit impact again. Came right off.
Problem I believe was diameter of removal tool that didn't cover all of the shaft end. I didn't realize the problem it would cause or I would have sandwichwed a piece of steel...
Pittman nut is off. My impact and Napa puller won't get arm off. It actually deformed the gearbox shaft end with me cranking on it.
If I don't get core refund...then oh well I guess. I'm over this project.
Arm removal options:
1. Heat?
2. Massive wacks?
3. Grinder wheel and cut? That's thick...
