Yeah mine is a very faint whine so it doesn't really bother me that much. I guess I could see the dying pump not giving the hydroboost enough pressure so I guess I need to sneak a new pump in before too much longer.
I mostly don't like it because of the extra complexity and hoses in the engine bay. I know it hasn't been changed in the last 5-10 years but not sure if it happened before my family owned it. I plan to start with flushing the power steering fluid and making sure its bled properly. After that...
I don’t think it’s a sticking caliper as it happens even while stopped just not as strong. It’s not a dangerous jerk or anything just noticeable especially if you aren’t paying attention.
the pump does whine a little and will be replaced at some point so maybe it’s not generating enough...
I have never owned a hydroboost vehicle before so this may be common knowledge but should the steering wheel move at all if you push the brakes? Had to replace the hydroboost last year and since then (can't remember before) my wheel will move (sometimes a fair amount if I am turning) when I hit...
I had it refilled and they filled it with the leak dye. I looked over as much of the system as I could see with a pair of orange glasses and an IR flashlight. The only place I saw some dye was the pressure port where it was filled. They said they also replaced the valve or whatever its called...
My parents had to replace the engine bay components in their 01 Yukon many years ago and the person they had do the work for some reason had to redo the job a couple times because debris kept messing up the compressor or something. He also was replacing the filter as well. That part has me...
I am hoping the leak is the compressor. My plan is to replace all the parts myself since the system is empty anyway and then take it and have it professionally refilled. My fear is the pieces I am not replacing (like the stuff in the rear) has some sort of debris in it. Is there some way to...
I would (and did on an old truck) put the Wideband bung on the driver side pipe before the crossover. It is the bank of cylinders with the leanest cylinder (#7) so I put it there. For a crossover, I like the sound of an X pipe as its a bit higher pitched and raspy (with less of a chance of...
I think there is a lot of overthinking going on in this thread. A larger rotor and more clamping force with everything else being the same and adequate, will result in shorter stopping distances. I upgraded the 2 piston calipers and tiny rotors on my 02 trans am to the 4 piston brembos off the...
So I am putting together a list of all the parts I want to replace for the a/c system in my 05 Tahoe with rear air. Right now there's a leak big enough to empty out in less than a couple days but even with dye in the system I can't find where its leaking from. So because of that and age/miles...
I have noticed on my 05 Tahoe with a Viper remote starter, that the rear brake lights will flash unless the truck is remote started. If it is running off the remote starter, only the front lights flash, nothing in the rear does anything..
Is there something wrong with your current valve train or just looking to upgade? A cam and head swap is going to be much easier than installing a new engine along with being considerably cheaper.
E85 by nature will always have lower fuel economy even with a proper tune. It takes more of it to burn than regular gasoline does. Its benefits are mostly performance related, if the engine can utilize the higher octane and the cooling effect of ethanol burning, otherwise it's just a cheaper...
If someone is having this problem (I can watch my heated seat lights turn on and off) should they start with the switch or the DDM? The heating elements work perfect so I am thinking I should start with the DDM. It sounds like the switch was redesigned so it wasn't as easy to turn on accidentally.
