That's what I had with mine -- the PS pump would whine. Mechanic diagnosed it with pressure below spec and changed the pump, all is well now.

That's what I was afraid of. Would yours kind of twitch the wheel like mine is doing?

No, all I experienced was the whine, more of a symptom or irritant to me. After replacement the steering was a bit easier and so was the braking. I noticed the braking improvement more when I towed a camper.

Yeah mine is a very faint whine so it doesn't really bother me that much. I guess I could see the dying pump not giving the hydroboost enough pressure so I guess I need to sneak a new pump in before too much longer.
