    Coolant Leak?

i just marked the tank to see if it goes down next time I look at it. It's extremely small if it's leaking anywhere as I haven't had to add coolant since owning it (october 2016). Part of me taking ownership and seeting a baseline for all the maintenance was to eventually R&R the cooling system...

    Coolant Leak?

2011 Escalade 6.2 AWD I was changing my plugs and wires and noticed a faint coolant smell when I was doing the driver side plugs. Didn't really see anything that jumped out at me so to get a starting point I'd figured I'd ask -are there any "common" places to look for potential leaks? I'm...

Escalade Wheel Confusion - Platinum vs Premium

From a thread over on cadillacforums: Looking for the premium rims that are in the brush/machine/aluminum finish, NOT chrome. They look just like the platinum rims but with a different finish. The guy over there said he found two sellers on eBay who wanted big $$$ and they didn't include the...

    Upper Control Arm Alignment Cams/Bolts

I was just reading the reviews on Amazon for the Moog & AC-Delco kits part numbers I found were: Alignment Cam Nut: 15538598 Alignment Cam Bolt: 15654866 Alignment Cam Plate: 15741217 The best parts website I found to look up parts was www.wholesalegmpartsonline.com. Below is a screenshot of...

    Upper Control Arm Alignment Cams/Bolts

i ended up getting them at the dealer. I didn't want to take chances with the Moog or ACDelco ones due to the recent Amazon reviews saying it was cheap metal that deformed when torqued

Front Suspension - FU*$%@! GM Part Numbers

Can anyone provide some guidance on part number lookup for my Escalade. Looking for p/n's for #4, 5, 7, 8, & 11 below: for instance #7 --> GMPartsdirect.com says p/n 20982216 is the correct one. However GMPartsGiant.com says that doesn't fit, the correct p/n is 15886463. There's a slight...

    Upper Control Arm Alignment Cams/Bolts

Anyone know the GM part #for the bolts, or if part #15741217 includes the bolts as well as the alignment cams? When searching that number on google, all the images only show the cam plate, no bolt or nut. Also on my Escalade there are these plastic inserts in the cam plates, no clue on the p/n...

Achieving that "new car ride" again without buying a new car again.

I'm trying to do the same for a 2011 escalade, still trying to compile a list of parts; this thread helped tremendously. What are you guys suggesting for parts? Moog, ACDelco, Raybestos? I've been reading a shit ton regarding part brands, and it appears moog quality has dropped off, a lot of...

the real story on spark plug wires

figured I'd bump this rather than create a new thread. I just got my 2011 escalade premium a couple months ago and I've been checking off maintenence items to have my own baseline of when stuff was done - fluids (tranny, diff, xfer case, etc), filters, belts, etc... Next on my list is the...

5.3 Engine Tick well above Idle

I had issues with ticking on my escalade 6.2....sounded a lot like lifters. I ran a few bottles of gumout regane through it at fuel fill-ups, no real noticeable change in the sound, maybe my injectors sounded quieter. Then I bought kroil "kreen" and put it in my oil. Drove it 1000 miles then...

    17's on Escalade for Winter

no issue with caliper clearance? I was reading on cadillacforums, but couldn't find a definite. Someone did confirm the 16" wheels are too small

    17's on Escalade for Winter

Does anyone know if 17" rims from a 2006 silverado will fit on the escalade? Specifically these: I want some crappy wheels to put some snow tires on for the winter. It's a pain finding reasonably priced snow tires above 18", although I am looking for the base escalade wheels.

    Question Help Identifying Engine 'tick'

Update: put in a bottle of Gumout regane high mileage in a 3/4 tank, drove it till best empty, then refilled tank and put in a bottle of Red Line SI-1, noise is pretty much gone. Was reading about lifter tick on BITOG forums, saw some recommendations of "kreen" in the oil that could help...

    2011 Esacalade - 148k miles - $19K - Worth it? Issues to look for?

Ended up getting another one - 2011, with 140K. No issues so far, nothing more than surface rust on some of the frame rails - Gonna get it up on the lift and treat it properly in the next few weeks. Couple of broken door handles, but I bought a set on eBay, Swapped out oil, and gonna do all the...

    Question Help Identifying Engine 'tick'

final video, phone was placed on the lines going into the firewall on the passenger side. Increases with engine speed. Gonna get it up on the lift Sunday and see if I can pinpoint an exhaust leak. Might take the valve cover off and see what it looks like under there.

    Question Help Identifying Engine 'tick'

Have another video below. The sound isn't nearly as audible with the hood open and my phone above the engine, but seems to be more noticeable along the passenger side exhaust manifold area. It also seems to be louder from underneath the truck. I'm gonna put it on my lift this week and listen...

    Question Help Identifying Engine 'tick'

I'm gonna bring it into my garage, and use my DSLR camera to take the video, that way there won't be any outside wind noise/etc, and it's higher quality than my phone. I've heard of the common 6.2 piston slap, but this doesn't sound like any of the video's I've seen regarding that.

    Question Help Identifying Engine 'tick'

2011 Escalade - 140K The video below makes the noise much more pronounced almost like a diesel. In person it's not that loud/aggressive, and can't be heard inside the vehicle with the windows and stuff closed. This happens at idle, no matter engine temp - cold start, at temp, etc... I couldn't...

    2011 Esacalade - 148k miles - $19K - Worth it? Issues to look for?

So I stumbled upon a 2011 escalade luxury with 148,000 miles on it for only $19,900. This seems like an absurdly good deal, but I wanted to get the experts opinion. I'm a Ford guy, so I don't have much exposure to the GM side of things, but I know my way around a garage, if any possible issues...

heres the car http://www.abwautos.com/2009-GMC-Yukon-Denali-Naugatuck-Connecticut-06770/5671296 after reading reviews I'm gonna look elsewhere.
