Yeah same day I pulled the valve covers to take a look at how the rocker arms were moving I checked it out everything looks good. Trust me I'm praying for a simple stupid solution but knowing my luck I have a feeling it's going to be something along the lines of a rebuild or more than likely...
Another update for today, I pulled the valve cover off to take a look at the rockers. For some reason I'm having a hard time with it uploading correctly to imgur, so I've attached a Google drive link to the video. None of the rocker seem loose as they said they would be if there was an issue and...
Hey guys,
For any of you that even follow any other threat I've been posting on here, specifically the one where I was replacing my knock sensors towards the end there I gave a little bit more information so I'm going to try to get some information right now with everything that I've done...
Sorry for the late response, been busy today. I was going to do all that this morning but forgot to then when I finally got in the car to drive somewhere this evening it was working again. Guess it just need some time from the battery being unplugged for so long. Thanks for the recommendations...
Yeah sorry about that, I only recently discovered that the cat or cats were clogged due to that rattling noise coming from underneath. It wasn't doing it prior to maybe 3 to 4 weeks ago, not really keeping a timeline so it's a little fuzzy.
Unfortunately I don't have the expensive scanner tool...
Not with a scanner I did that method where you connect the two terminals and let it drain, I thought when I saw that that was a way of draining the system memory to relearn everything
I can't recall a fan I know I wrote it down but I'm pretty sure I lost the paper. I did that maybe two to three months back.
Yeah I know but my problem also is do I drop a lot more money to have those replaced And then if the problem is still there I'm out that money still with the same...
Hey guys,
After replacing the knock sensors yesterday and reconnecting the battery I got in the car to drive it around and make sure everything was good. The clock had, my presets for the stations were still saved, but my CD player won't work. It's saying no disc is I hit eject and when I...
Got the new knock sensors in, naturally not without running into a few problems, but nevertheless is done.
I was hoping this was what was causing my misfire but unfortunately it's still there. I've had this misfire since I've bought the car and cannot for the life of me figure out the cause...
I'm replacing The knock sensors right now according to the specs I looked up online and saying 15 ft lbs is what to set the torque wrench too That's what I'm doing and as they were getting tighter all of the sudden they started feeling looser so I stopped and put in the rear knock sensor and the...
It was making the noise today while I was driving I had a chance to pull over I pulled the HVAC1 fuse turn the car back on so they're driving thought it would away sure enough it started to come back within about a minute. Pulled over again and I also pulled out the HTR/AC fuse and same thing...
So I was going to pull the HVAC fuse today, I wanted it to make the noise before I did that and all day long as I'm driving I couldn't get it to make the noise once. That's the way it goes isn't it?
Damn! No I completely forgot sorry. I'll have time tomorrow morning to do it. Right now I am driving to a job I have and I haven't had the heat on and I have not heard that noise once. Tomorrow morning I have some time and it seems like when it's cold out my first started up at 10s to do it more...
As tom3 recommended doing lowering the heat settings, I dropped it down to 80° on both sides and I'm still getting the noise. Since you're saying you're having trouble hearing the noise I took some more video this morning while I was driving to capture the audio. As you can see in the video for...
I'll give it a try and see what happens. Like I mentioned when I first got the car it was doing it to me and it was cold out so I had the heat going. Didn't notice at all summer when I had the AC on but since I cranked the heat back over now it's doing it again.
It's definitely not that. I know my brakes are good Just change the rear rotors and pads a few months ago and I checked the front while I was doing it and they were still good. I can get that noise to happen as was mentioned previously when I'm sitting with or without the key in the ignition...
Thanks for mentioning that, I forgot when I first purchased the vehicle I can see the build up of oil around the covers. There's no steady leak but they definitely need to be replaced. Put the order in this morning and I added those as well.
Thanks again everyone for your help, I appreciate it.
Thanks for the heads up, I am definitely going to change them. I have a build up I noticed when I first bought the car, not a steady leak but they definitely need to be changed.
