Hello,
I was doing a search for this swap and found that the forum (http://www.pacificp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=317) is missing. in fact the whole formum is broken (pacificp.com/forum) I know it worked just a few months ago.
Does anyone know of the guy(s) that developed the conversion? I...
Is the grass in neutral? If not, did you get the correct trade for your transmission? One is for a 4L60e and the other for a 4L80e. They have different input shafts.
Hello, I was looking on Rockauto for headlights and there seems to be two versions? Z71 and regular. However, if you look up the grills, the only kind available is a Z71. So, are there two kinds or is everything considered Z71?
That tranny will only work if you have an adapter ring that sits between the back of the engine block and tranny. GM sells a kit. The alignment pins that are pressed into the block need to be replaced which are included in the kit. The reason for all this is that the torque converter is a...
I never got that deep into the column so I didnt change out that mounting point. I'm not sure that it can be changed. But, since changing out the cable, it moves smooth throughout the shifting range. The whole reason everything broke was because the cable was bad and that made it hard to move...
Im not sure what to make of that insert. It looks like somebody either repaired the cover and made that sensor work or the cover is some kind of aftermarket version that doesnt use a stock sensor.
I dont recall any brass insert in mine. The end of the sensor is actually a magnetic pick up and needs to be kind of close to the passing teeth of the reluctor wheel. The correct one is the one with the red o-ring. Lets be clear...you have a 5.7 vortec right? Here is the link to rockauto.com for...
The solenoids can be changed and its not too hard. Drop the pan and you'll see them plugged into the harness that goes around. However, it would help to have someone look at it. That being said, I have never had a good experiences with tranny shops. Throw in the fact that they will definitely...
I did call them on it and they were clueless. There is more room than you think under that hood. I have a Volant CAI and the hat on it is tall...still makes it no problem.
Hey 1BAD I recall having a clearance issue with the Vmaxx near the distributor and fuel lines. I had to bend them out of the way. Please post if you had any issues also. Maybe they redesigned it a little. Thanks
I was looking into the same swap soon and did some research on it. Go on ebay and type in hydroboost. Find the seller "just chevy trucks". Their stuff is usually shown with a florecent green backdrop. They have the hydroboost unit from newer trucks with the MC for around $175. Then go to...
Its a nice upgrade and you can feel a power difference. But the engine suffers from piston slap. Its a knocking sound from the piston skirts moving slightly in the transition from coming down the cylinder and going back up. the pistons have short skirts on them to allow clearancd for the...
You may have a problem with the Passlock system. First try this.
"With the Doors closed, place the key in the lock cylinder and turn to the Run position. Observe the Security indicator lamp. If the lamp is On and does not go Off however, the engine starts. This indicates that the system...
4l80e will bolt up to the 5.7. You will need to relocate the tranny crossmember and get a transfer case that bolted up to a 4l80e cause the spline count is different. Rewiring a bit to the tranny plug and a ecm reprograming is needed as well. You also need to resize the drive shaft. There are a...
I put in the typical aluminum aftermarket version you find on ebay for around $250. However i found the same one on amazon for $134 from Sheppard Auto. I just checked and they are out of stock.
