Started this project with installing new lifters in the d.o.d cylinders (to get ahead of a collapsed lifter down the road) i put it all back together following all specs and torque processes. Go to start the vehicle and it ramps up like it wants to start then shuts off. If I do it two or three times it acts dead and loses power to start. Power comes back after a few minutes. I went through the motions and couldn't pin point the issue. I've replaced fuel pump, plugs coils, cam position sensor, crankshaft position sensor and a brand new battery. Even after all of that it won't start. Am I missing something??? M.a.p sensor? I'm so lost please help!!

Welcome from SoCal. Sounds like you got the hard part done. Do you have something like a tech 2 to interact with the truck?

Need more specifics on what you did. Were you looking to delete the AFM/DOD.... Or are you only replacing the AFM lifters?

Note.... It's not usually the AFM lifters that fail, it's usually the solenoids that control them. As much as I cringe at the thought of attempting to maintain the AFM system, to do it correctly you should replace the VLOM after removing it.

Reading whatever trouble codes exist is where to start.
