Seconded. I have the AEM filter, but I can't imagine there's much difference. Throttle response and sound are better, but I can't really comment on the mpg.
07+ brake upgrade incoming within the next week or two. I can't wait to see how big the difference is. After upgrading to the 20s, I can tell it takes longer to stop and it seems to have gotten even worse over the past few months. I'm pretty sure rotors and calipers are the original ones, so...
I completely understand where you're coming from, but I would HIGHLY advise, at the very minimum, a tune from BlackBear. On top of that I'd say get the Air Raid Jr. MIT. Those 2 things alone will yield the best results in all around economics/performance and it'll cost you less than $400...
Not a complete cold start since I drove it around the block less than 30 mins before this was taken. I'll add a drive-by clip when the weather permits.
I'll get on it. It sounds exactly like I wanted: nice rumble at low rpms and nearly inaudible from the cabin up to 1600 rpms. There is a slight cabin drone from ~2100-2300 rpm which happens to be around 75-80mph. Really sounds nice when I step on it too.
Borla Exhaust Tip and Borla Pro XS muffler. It's more difficult to get a decent picture of the muffler on a lowered truck than I thought.
Side note- next up will be some interior work. I'm hoping to get the front two seats recovered and possibly add cooled air to the driver seat.
I haven't tightened the adjustment screw in the column, but I had a new gearbox put in last November and am getting an alignment tomorrow. I have purchased a steering damper, but don't have a mounting bracket yet.
Thanks for taking the time to respond, but it's not in the steering. Nearly every piece of the front suspension and steering has been replaced within the past year. I think there are just some rough roads that I happen to drive over more often than the average bear. Driving on 95 today I only...
I think that would help me as well, but I don't want to cause uneven wear on my A/T tires. I'm thinking the tire has a lot to do with the harshness...and my brake pedal shaking makes it seem even worse.
That's a great color combo with your truck and I really like the style too. Did the 22s ride that bad, or were you saying that the 26s just ride better than you thought?
Mine is fine on smooth roads and I have changed all the components you mentioned, but does it give a hard jolt when changing surfaces? I've put nearly 10k miles on mine in that time with no change.
I have a VERY similar setup and mine does the same thing. Every component of my front suspension has been replaced and/or upgraded in the past 6 months and it still does it. Please let me know if anything improves the situation.
After installing the new PCM from BlackBear and the relearn, I'm loving the new tune. This may sound weird, but the thing that I like the most is the quicker shifts. I chose the setting for firmer across the board. I'm not saying it shifts as smooth as a Mercedes, but compared to what it was...
