    2008 Denali Driver's Tail Light

Well, I had time today to tinker with it. I double check the light assembly and it is fine (works on other side). I tried to test for power and ground at the taillight connectors - but my meter is bad (not sure what I did the other day but DC testing is dead). I will order another one. There...

    2008 Denali Driver's Tail Light

OK, I was out of town - so no progress. I brought a new light switch but it didn't help so I returned it. Summary: I switched the assembly and assembly is good. So must be wiring. Winter is coming so I haven't felt like checking the wiring. And I am not so sure where the most likely failure...

What year would you avoid in a Tahoe or Yukon?

I am in MN and will buy my next pre-2015 Tahoe / Yukon / Esc in California. There seems to be a lot of lower mileage ones available and prices are lower as gas prices are so high there. Just be sure to triple check the mileage for roll backs.

Check the grounds. Then check the grounds. And once done, check the grounds.

    Driver side Tail Lights

I have the same problem but it didn't blow my fuse (would be easier if it did!). Hmmmm. Some people say look for a broken ground. But in your case I think a ground wire is not the issue as you are blowing a fuse. You need to look for the wire carrying power that is grounding out (touching some...

    2008 Denali Driver's Tail Light

I see. My old Escalades had very similar LEDs but I looked at a photo of them and the brake light is a bit different. I just assumed they were standard as everything else on a Denali seems to be the same as my old Escalades. I guess these are after markets. Either way, it is not the assembly...

    2008 Denali Driver's Tail Light

As posted above, I tested by switching assemblies.

    2008 Denali Driver's Tail Light

I just tested the relays and made sure the fuse had power. All good. So next I will check the light switch itself.

    2008 Denali Driver's Tail Light

So I switched tail light assemblies and the assembly worked fine on the passenger side. So it is something with the relays, fuses, switches or wiring. Any ideas? I checked the fuses and they are good. I don't see relays for the tail lights listed anywhere. My neighbor mechanic suggested...

    2008 Denali Driver's Tail Light

This is a Denali so it has the Cadillac LED bank. The LEDs light up for other functions - just not for light switch.

    2008 Denali Driver's Tail Light

2008 Yukon Denali. Driver's side tail light works for turn signal, hazard, open door with remote, etc. But when I have the lights switched on (set at auto, running or just on) it does not illuminate. I pulled (and switched for good measure) the tail light fuses to no avail. (25, 26 and 27)...

Dealer rip off or legitimate cost?

it was 2 things causing this ---> This is rarely the case. What are the chances TWO related parts went out at the same time? This is clueless, lazy diagnosis. "service driver assist". ---> This comes up for 100X different reasons. Without proper dianosis, you will be paying for a parts cannon...

2023 Yukon Denali 6.2L, Dead at 3600 miles

I am going to predict these newer versions will have hideous resale value in the future. Up until 2014, these were tanks. I have owned a bunch of Suburbans, Escalades & Yukons - most high mileage. I have never replaced a tranny or motor. Other than wear parts, the only issues I have had is...

    Steering Stiff After Repair

I recently bought a 2008 Yukon Denali. When I test drove it the steering was fine. The small town dealer I bought it from (just the owner works there) said he needed to replace the CV joint. So I picked up the vehicle a few days later - during a huge snow storm. Anyway. the steering is a bit...

2023 Yukon Denali 6.2L, Dead at 3600 miles

That sucks. There are a lot of problems with vehicles made since the pandemic. Some sat outside waiting for chips. And overall quality is down (for all manufacturers). Heck, quality is down for everything - even the food at our favorite restaurant. It seems since 2015 Yukons have been hit or...

    Gas Leak 2008 Suburban

I bought a $5000 winter beater in Nov 2019 when we returned from overseas as I was vehicle-less. Well, the pandemic came and I still have it. It is well rusted (orginally a NY state vehicle which is even worse than MN : ) I had a gas tank strap rust through recently. I had that replaced. Then I...

    Tow Truck Ripped Frame

You will need to file an accident report with the police. The police will need their insurance info for the report. You actually file with your insurance company. You will need their insurance info so your insurance company can subjugate to their insurance company. The laws are written so...

Intermittent Low Oil Pressure when Warm

I change oil whenever the dash tells me. We mostly drive short local trips so changes are more less than 5K. But I had just had the oil changed when I had a new lifter put in - so less than 1K. But that guy used a different oil filter - and who know what other changes there were.

Intermittent Low Oil Pressure when Warm

So after 3 weeks oil pressure is still great. So just an oil changed fixed it. I took a 2 hour road trip during the blizzard and all was fine. In fact, this vehicle's oil has been 50+ PSI when driving (40 at idle). I wonder if the previous owner put in a higher performance oil pump. It was...

    2023 Tahoe LT Lemon

Well, your vehicle most likely sat on a lot outside somewhere waiting for parts (chips, what not). Cars, especially new ones, need to be driven to keep things sealed up and working. You could have has moisture in the gas and as it sat it caused permanent issues with delicate parts. I need a...

    Current pricing, 2022 & 23

The MSRP prices are unreal. The auto industry is going to be hurting soon. I am so sick of dealers I refuse to buy anything new (except a Tesla or Rivian you can order online).

Intermittent Low Oil Pressure when Warm

Well, it seemed to me that there was a clog of some type preventing the oil from circulating - hence low pressure starting after the vehicle ran for 20 minutes or so. I thought it could be the oil filter or the screen in the oil pan. If I stopped the engine for a few minutes it was fine -...
