Looking for an alternative to new paint/vinyl for hood. Flood penetrol or similar?
Started with 800 grit on a DA, water sanding. Went up to 3000, then polished. It didn't get all the cracks out, but it shined up everything that wasn't cracked and that really masks the cracks quite a bit. They are much less noticeable. I have never touched the roof. Going to do that soon... -
GM 6L80 Transmission Information Thread
Hey Nick, 16 Tahoe 6L80. Was rebuilt by a GM tech 2 years ago. Had an issue not going back to 1st when you come to a stop. Intermittent. Also didn't always engage in reverse, also intermittent, but reasonably often. Also, after it was rebuilt, it always shifted funny...almost like a stick...- Pacfanweb

I water sanded and buffed the hood on my wife's 16. Made a big difference. That was at least 2 years ago, it still looks decent. Keep UV blocking sealer on it. Need to do the front of the roof now. -
2021 Chevy Tahoe front passenger floor mat wet, moldy, water under mat & musty odor.
If you have a leak on the front floors and you can't find it, and you've tested your sunroof drains and they flow to the ground....they still might be the cause of the leak. Because of the way they're made, they can drain to the ground and some can still spill back in and run down the firewall... -

" From the TSB, part about the spot welds: "Note: It may be necessary to remove windshield" There's no "may be" to it...it's absolutely necessary. If you seal the holes from inside the cab, the water will just travel and enter somewhere else. -

I've done that TSB a few times, but most of these with this water leak concern have an issue where the drain tube exit spout isn't "clicked" tightly against the firewall, and even though most of the water is going outside, some is still draining back inside. It's pretty hard to find if you... -

I see at least one of these a month, if not two. Best case fix is to pull the windshield, and put sealer over the exposed spot welds while it's out. I have tried fixing one with some spray sealer by sticking the little straw/tube between the rubber and the roof so it'll get behind the...
