'04 Yukon XL 2500 autoride shocks source?

i don't think fronts are the same. 1500 and 2500 have an autoride option - but other than the name, they are not the same. The rear for 2500 has leaf springs, and different mounts. I don't think the front is involved at all in a 2500, but it has been a long time.

99 tahoe to 2015 frame and drive train swap

Probably cheaper to buy a 2015, and have both. Doing it right is going to be spendy.

2002 Yukon XL 2500 rear bump stop

For the 3/4 Ton 2500 Series Burb / Yukon XL - has anyone done the rear bump stops ( GM Part 15716479 ) I see some of the other part #'s come with the steel cup, but the part I posted does not. I see a cup on the rail - is ours part of the frame? Wanted to understand better before I start...

Transmission fluid and filter change at 200K.

the 01 1500 XL went to 270K - never opened the transmission - I did a full fluid change at 220K? when the cooler line broke. I never towed with it, and it never gave me trouble ( 4L60E ). once I got to 200K, I decided to leave it alone as much as possible. What is your plan for this truck -...

    2021 5.3L Tahoe Alternator voltage?

CTEK is a good product. From my own experience with Delco Batteries, they are not to be trusted. not one last more than 15 months. AGM or regular wet cell from Interstate have been good to me over the last few years. I had a Wet Cell Die Hard top post in a BMW, that Died Hard at 11 months...

Anyone replaced their unused spare tire due to age?

Better to find out at home than on the shoulder or worse. My 01 spare was the original. The 02 has a spare. It has air in it. I need to examine it better. All the other cars - with spares in the trunk are original. the 99 and 2000 BMW are on Matching Alloys from factory, the 01 has a...

    Leaking fuel after fill up

I did it all on the 01 1500 - Fuel pump - 3 times in 270K, the filler behind the gas door, all the way to the tank, the steel lines, the plastic lines, the evap thing above the rear diff. I never had it leak for as long as he said. That's like driving a grenade.

    Leaking fuel after fill up

Even if you filled to the top, and hit evap, on a healthy system, a leak for that long is not normal behavior. I've got 22 years of T800 life, and the leak would make me look at the fuel pump seal to the tank. Do you have any Service Engine codes - Evap errors would trigger the SES light.

If you didnt have a Yukon/Suburban/Escalade, what would be your next choice?

Hmm. I ran across the current truck ( 02 2500 XL 6.0 ), but I was really looking for a 2005/2006 BMW E53 X5 4.8is. The far end of the spectrum away from the XL, but the XL is the devil I know.

    Worried about transfer case.

read this thread. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/98216-4-wheel-hi-in-reverse/ As a follow up - I have had one of these trucks since 2002, and I use 4WD Hi infrequently - 2 or 3 times a year in deep snow. I don't think I ever have used it in reverse - maybe straight out of a deep snow...

    Liftgate handle

Popped out, as in broken part, or not installed correctly? I use the handle carefully, I pull on it, and once it is disengaged, I pull from the lip. The first trunk went to 2023 and 270K on the original handle, and so far the second. How did the first fail?

    2021/2022 PPV wheel part number

I'll chime in a bit. I ran Firestone Winterforce on the 1500 XL - excellent product. I did run them in 265/70/17 for my needs, but they are a good product

    New Ignition w/New keys

Good luck with that. Agree, I had a 01 1500 XL for 21 years, keys are just metal - no chip, no code. 2002 2500 XL same thing. Anyone that tells you about coding the key does not know what they are doing. Aftermarket kits won't change that. but making a mess of the column could have made a...

back 2 side doors, and hatch? For the side doors, I had the right rear that ( 01 1500 XL ) that stopped working at 30K miles. Never got it right. open one door, and see if they are connected correctly. not sure on the back. I never had trouble there
