UPDATE. No more reduced engine power after all the work I did.
"Service stability system" message is popping up only. I'm sure I have to maintenance the ABS module but she's rolling!
Turns out it wasn't the HVAC. Pretty sure just grounds and the Flasher Relay. Electronic throttle module, brake module, and stoplamps are connected to the Flasher Relay. I installed a bunch of interior LEDs and I think it caused some issues with the stock Flasher Relay. It also had aftermarket...
Well, I tested it with the scope with the hvac plugged back in and everything was responding properly with no reduced engine power.
I think the fix could have been the grounds I fixed and cleaned, upgraded to a LED flasher relay (do this if you upgraded any lights to LED), and I updated all...
FIXED.
After unplugging my rear HVAC module. I seem to have gotten rid of the "reduced engine power" message and have full connection to the throttle. I am getting an oscilloscope tomorrow to test by serial bus. Crazy how these modules cause interference like that. I am going to test it like a...
Well... all wires have been properly soldered. Grounds are absolutely perfect. Ohm the wires from the TAC module harness to PCM. Nothing is working per usual. Same codes pop up.
When checking the inside of the instrument fuse panel, I noticed the fuse pictured does not light up for me when the...
@strutaeng Thanks for the reply. I traced every wire to the ending point, fuse box, Tac wire, and i only visually inspected the 4 wires going into the truck. Every wire has an electrical path. I realized my solder job was awful. I will post some updates after correcting.
I didnt check the two...
New pedal sensor to TAC module harness.... still throwing same codes with no throttle response. Going to check wires for the 9th time and I'm done trying.
Found out I'm missing a ambient temp sensor next to condenser so I'm buying another one. Traced one ground that led to two grounds that hook...
Nothing has fixed the issue yet. Going to wire my own, pedal sensor to TAC module, harness and see what that does.
Tested can bus and the radio had no voltage with makes sense cause no radio is installed.
The other test came up faulty was the ABS but maybe no voltage cause it's not on? Idk. Had...
@Doubeleive
Good news, I was replacing my front passenger fog light pigtail and got lucky and found this ground wire that connects to it almost about to split in two. Im feeling very hopefull that could of been my problem the whole time sheesh....
The plastic protection case showed no signs of...
I think this may be my CAN BUS? it was taped right on top of the harness. I remember watching a old video on a Silverado and yhey had a slice pak instead of the two pins.
No not too my knowledge. Its a 5.3 LM7. When I took it apart it looked pretty dirty and stock.
Thanks for letting me know, I felt like I should have those to test it. Not sure what to do now lol thanks again for the help
It has four wires that I followed and they just tie into the harness then connect I to the driver side fuse box. I guess I should test continuity? Or keep digging. Seems like it should have more then 4 pins/wires in the OBD port
*Red arrow is the 4 wires from the OBD port
*Green arrow is the...
Also this is what my OBD port looks like. Thought this truck had a CAN network but im not sure. That's the first thing I wanted to test. Based off the port, I can't test it thru there.
Just finished checking and I have flow all the way thru to the fuse block. Noticed a little dirt in the fuse box right where the cables connect. Just going to clean it real good and put everything back. If that doesn't change anything I will move on to checking grounds for continuous flow. After...
The cable from the pedal sensor to the TAC module has a continuous electrical path. Same for the cable from the TAC module (right side) all the way to the TPS connection. Going to check the other 8 wires coming from that TAC module cable to the fuse box.
No just visual inspections. Did some research and am now going to check each wire Individually, ohms, voltage, and whatever else. Thanks for the help, I will keep posting updates. Hopefully I can pin point it!
Another update....... all previously crimped wires have been individually soldered. Even moved a back ground thinking it might help lol.
LITTERALLY NOTHING HAS CHANGED. guess it's time to take engine out and replace harness? Who knows at this point. Might look for a donor car to put engine in. F...
Throttle body is fine. Both throttle bodies are working. Both TAC modules are working. TPS wire pigtail connector has been replaced. Grounds have been cleaned. New battery. Both pedal sensors are working .... I just don't understand this. I have soldered all the wires I orginally crimped...
