    Dealer oil change $$$

I was going to start a new thread but figured I’d post in this one. I did the first oil change on my wife’s Suburban today at 3,600 miles and I want to say that they did a great job making these easy. I was pleased to find the drain plug wasn’t over a crossmember or anything and neither was the...

    It’s here

Almost 1,000 miles on it now, wife absolutely loves it and so do I. Such a comfortable cruiser. Only a couple gripes. 1. After parking it in the garage, it will randomly sound like electronics are coming on, happens on a regular basis. If you lock it then it stops. 2. The fit and finish...

    It’s here

It’s not even much of a price increase, less than $1,000 to go from 5.3 to Duramax when building.

    It’s here

This thing is amazing. You’d think the Duramax was a slouch from reviews but it will put you back in the seats no problem, transmission and engine are very smooth, love it, it’s an absolute pleasure to drive. The trip was only 90 miles, speed limits bounced between 55 mph and 65 mph, filled up...

    It’s here

I was not a fan of the red RST stitching based on pics on Chevrolets website but it’s much more subtle in person. My wife absolutely loves it. Going for a decent road trip tomorrow to get a feel for it.

    It’s here

Yes I will this afternoon, daughter has dance recitals today. A little background. We had ordered a 2023 LT with the same options end of July 2023 but never got an allocation, March of 2024 the dealer got a single allocation for an RST and they were able to equip with the exact same options...

    Benefits of the diesel?

These things average like $70k now, who cares if one type of fuel is $0.50 more. We ordered a diesel for the fuel mileage and range when towing (based on reports I’ve read) and to avoid the issues with the 5.3 and 6.2, the diesels seem very reliable so far.

    2024 diesel allocation?

Ours is suppose to start production March 18th, can anyone provide insight as to how long production typically takes before it’s shipped out?

    2024 diesel allocation?

So we got notified by the dealer a couple days ago that they had a single allocation for a base model Suburban, we declined. Then was contacted again today and notified they received another single allocation, this time for an RST. We originally went with the LT to save some money and we didn’t...

    2024 diesel allocation?

We placed an order for a 2023 Suburban LT 3.0 in July and have not heard a word. Dealer was up front and said it would likely be spring of 2024. I’m assuming our order will be changed to a 2024 and hopefully here before next summer.

How can you afford the cost of a new SUV?

My fault for not reading forum rules. I’m on multiple other forums and none of them care about politics, didn’t think this one was any different.

How can you afford the cost of a new SUV?

We haven’t had a payment on anything except for the mortgage since 2017, I’m not going to lie that it’s hard to do that again. I know we’d be better off putting the $45k down payment towards the home mortgage(did the math on interest saved) but we decided we’d do the car now so my wife has more...

How can you afford the cost of a new SUV?

I do want to ad that we originally had no intention of buying new. For the last 2 years we looked for a used 2017-2020 Suburban, wanted an LT with less than 60k miles. Every single one we found up here was around $45k. I just couldn’t get myself to pay nearly $50k for a used vehicle with no...

How can you afford the cost of a new SUV?

Great topic, just finished reading all the replies. IMO, true affordability means your home is paid off, you have ZERO debt, retirement accounts are maxed, you can pay cash for the vehicle and it doesn’t affect your budget at all. If you have to make a payment and sacrifice in other areas then...

    Strike??? Thoughts, insights, predictions.

Maybe our 23 turned 24 will turn into a 25 now. More to time to keep setting money aside I guess. I am a member of a union, although it’s a fairly weak one. I don’t think the union would go away, but they could take some big hits like losing arbitration. If you look at the statistics of how...
