I tried buying a used update on e-bay but it was vin specific. Even with help from fellow forum members it never worked.
Be careful if you buy a used one.
I did some digging within the files and found this
This page contains the following errors
I’m thinking that’s what’s causing the update from working
Thanks to all that tried helping me out. I’m guessing the usb is pooched
UPDATE
I tried it today and the same thing happened
Invalid Update File
Map update file is Invalid
I’m going to check the usb stick again and see if the vin is in another file
Update
I found the vin on both files
I updated the vin with my vin
I’ll try it in the next couple of days
Thanks again for your help
I never would of been able to figure this out on my own.
Update I found the vins on both files this am and switched them out with my vin
Hopefully it will work
I’ll try it in the next couple of days
Thanks for your help
I tried opening the file that Ozark posted but it wouldn’t open. It just went to a media player
The part# for the update is 84990634
I’ll try again in the next couple of days
Thanks to all that are helping me out
I purchased a used usb nav update for my 17 Tahoe
It won’t work, I get a message on the screen (see photo)
I’m guessing the stick is bad or it can’t read the stick.
I didn’t pay much for it so I’m not worried about getting my money back.
I was thinking and wondering if this will even work. I’m...
I can only answer the wheel question
In my case my Tahoe came with 22 inch wheels. In the winter I have a separate set of wheels/tires. They’re off my old 06 Tahoe. They’re 17 inch rims. The tire size of the 17 inch wheels vs. The 22 inch wheels are virtually the same. I’ve swapped the 22 inch...
I agree
I do the same
Where I live there are new roads and a new highway so when I’m using the gps it shows that I’m driving through farmers fields. :Big Laugh:
To bad GM won’t support it after 5 years
Not anymore. I contacted GM last year and was put on a waiting list. I just checked this past week and the message was
‘There are no longer map updates available for purchase for your navigation system via this website or at GM dealerships
Thank you”
That’s on the GM Navigation store
I went from an 06 Z71 Tahoe to a 17 Tahoe Premier. The 06 was bullet proof, no issues just wear items. It had the best a/c in a vehicle that I ever owned.
The 17 has been pretty good. We took 3 trips to Florida (I’m here now). We also drove to Arizona this past January.
I do change the oil more...
Yeah no kidding I had an 06 Z71 Tahoe with rear heat/ac and I never had a leak. It had the best ac of any vehicle that I ever owned. We called it the meat locker because the ac worked so well
I purchased a CPO 17 Tahoe Premier. A/C didn't work, it was the line you mentioned, not under warranty. The service adviser said it was a wear item. They did replace the rear evaporator as well. They covered that under warranty.
I had an 06 Z71 that we took on many trips. I bought it in NC in 2010. It was a great vehicle. It let me down only once. The fuel pump died in Boston just before heading home
I re-painted the calipers on my Corvette from a company called G2. I applied with a brush and the results were excellent. In 5 years it held up well including track days.
Just returned from Arizona last Sunday after spending the month in Scottsdale. I drove roughly 2200 miles each way, plus driving to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. My Tahoe was flawless, I cruised at 80 mph most of the trip.
Had an oil change at Earnhardt Cadilac before heading home.
The only...
I had a 97 4 door Tahoe, then an 06 Z71. Both were trouble free but the 97 had a smoother ride on long trips.
I traded the 06 for a 17 Tahoe Premier in 2021. It has all the bells and whistles. I've driven it to Florida twice and I'm heading to Arizona in January. It drives really well on long...
If 6 and 8 are on the right hand side then I agree. I replaced all the plugs at 160,000 Km's. My arms were chewed up jamming them between the battery and the A/C lines. The most rearward plug I replaced from the bottom.
I thought about removing the inner wheel liners but I chose not to.
The left...
I replaced an 06 Z71 Tahoe (great truck) for a 17 CPO Tahoe. The only major issue was the rear A/C lines were leaking. The dealer replaced them at my cost but replaced the rear evaporator under warranty.
It's been pretty dependable. We've driven from Ontario to Florida twice and we're driving to...
