What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

After running at night a few times, I've not noticed significant halo effects from the LEDs. If it's raining, it can get ugly. But aside from the inherent graininess, it's fine, for $10. The flush-mount $20 one would've been better. But I was going cheap on this one. Plan a future upgrade of...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

New suspension all around! I'll eventually get details in my build thread, but I went Eibach Pro-Truck shocks. new springs fr/rr, new bushings everywhere, diff drop, steering inners/outers. Getting close.... Disclosure: my mechanic did this. Would've done it myself, but had a time crunch...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I haven't driven much at night yet. Will be looking out for it. I re-did the applique, tossing some FlexTape over the screw holes to keep it all water proof. Feeling ready for my exit from CA... though 70s in January compared to 40s/30s in the Mid-West is gonna take some time to adjust to. -bZj

With attribution: Will be an interesting future, seeing what liberty/convenience trade-offs ppl will make. ===== On topic: installed my back-up camera. It was a *****, but it's in. -bZj

Got the rear camera installed. Super painful, broke many clips/bolts. That applique should absolutely not be held on by 2 clips, and 4 bolts (with a shit-ton of thread-lock): it's a trim panel. Took 4 hours, even though the wiring was already run, and the trim panels were already removed...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

This is the one I got: www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM2SRCVD I also grabbed this camera ($10): www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7LM1B68 But had to get some power/RCA extensions b/c it is meant for a car, not a large SUV. Therefore I haven't installed the camera, yet. This is the one I wanted (literally twice the...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Replaced my 4WD switch, b/c I was getting intermittent Service 4WD errors. We'll see if this was the issue. More cool: I installed a cheap-o Amazon Android 12 head unit. Everything I've tested so far works. Most importantly is the Android Auto connection, which is automatic, and makes my...

I installed a new Android 12 radio. Cheap-o unit from Amazon, but everything works so far. Android Auto connects automagically when I get in, which will work well when I just toss my phone on the wireless charger I put in the center console. Only twisted one wire together to ensure Bose stayed...

Possible, but I don't think I had the heated fluid (from RPOs). I will mess with it after Christmas. The mirrors are looking/doing fine. Got a wash, and waxed the doors under the BSM, where the adhesive promoter had left them a little funky. Still need to stop being lazy and (re)clean the...

I finally got around to working on my washer pump yesterday. Long story short: the pump was probably fine. I replaced it, and it still didn't work. I spent 3-4 hours messing with this, between pulling it apart, draining the entire thing via a tiny-ass opening, checking one thing or another...

Well, the puddle lamp popped right in. Glad for that. Just need to figure out about how to get them working. The cap struggled a bit, but its on there. Not planning on doing significant offroading, so it should hold. -bZj

Also replaced the mirror. Didn't go as well as the passenger side. Naturally the driver's side, which I will see the most, has less-than-stellar build quality: I trimmed it up, so it's not so bad now. But I may go JB Weld-crazy on it, for fun. I broke a clip on the driver's mirror cap, so I'm...

Good idea. May need to do both sides, since I busted one of the clips off the mirror cap for the driver's side doing it today. :sad72: Pulled this old 'n' busted one: Man, lots of nastiness in there: It's all cleaned in there now, of course. Every. Single. One. Of these clips has broken off...

Please help with post DoD delete problems!!!!

I do not - just the DS disabling the AFM/DoD. I did indeed miss that part (some days the brain moves slow...). That would qualify as "serious work." Yeah, "real" tune would make more sense with an actual cam change. -bZj

Please help with post DoD delete problems!!!!

I used a DiabloSport to do just this. No AFM & update tire size. Didn't mess with tuning it yet, b/c I'm still working my way through maintenance and have only had the truck for a couple months. Also, I don't need any tickets/etc. Got to make use of the code reader, too. (Though I already have...

OK, got the front passenger interior handle done today, along with my up-level side mirror. Naturally, there was a broken clip to repair. I am getting a ton of use out of the JB Weld superglue. While the blinkers on the mirrors work - and they are amber, not red, which I like so far - the...

    Headlight restoration

<$90 for new ones: www.amazon.com/dp/B0BX3YFZ6D I tried using a restorer, but it did nothing for me, so I went the "easy" route. I forgot to install my protectors, so really need to get that done.... But it's so cold out, I think it'll need to be warm for good application. -bZj

Escalade Side trim delete! Yay or nay??

I replaced mine with something much more flat: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/build-log-down8s-tahoe-has-a-nickname.145043/post-1832327 Aside from protection, I have never really liked how slab-sided this generation was and feel they need a body line of some sort. But less ugly. Your...

Got one of the new interior handles installed today. Didn't grab a picture of the flaky one I pulled off, but you've seen 'em. It is freezing out (50-60°F = basically Antarctica in Cali Units), so my hands weren't working, and plastic was breaking. I smashed my finger trying to smash the pin...

    Tired Battery=Wonky Fuel Gauge

I've been looking at tossing something like this on my rear driver's side window (can't see out of it anyway). The 12V plug could (maybe/theoretically?) go right into the one in the luggage area. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMZQ8VN5/ -bZj
