    The knock sensors don't throw a code when it detects a knock...it uses that information to adjust the timing and what not to PREVENT the knock. If you're getting a low voltage signal, you probably have the knock sensor issue that many have with these motors. I just replaced both knock sensors...

    You'd have to re-wire one of the outlets to a switched 12v lead. If I were you, and the radar detector spent all of it's time in the vehicle, I'd just hard wire it to a circuit that's hot only when the key is switched on. That way, it looks super clean, and you still have both outlets available.
