Outside air vs recirculating inside air

I meant, when it was under warranty I could have had it looked at, at no cost. At this point, I'm not taking it to them. If there was something I could look at on my own I'd have to decide if it would be worth it to take the dash apart. It isn't that much of an inconvenience. I mainly wanted to...

Outside air vs recirculating inside air

Understood, I guess what I'm saying is that I don't have this issue with foreign vehicles but I do with mine. Maybe there is something wrong with mine, but I also didn't notice this recently, I noticed it when it was still under warranty but it was never a big enough issue to take the car in and...

Outside air vs recirculating inside air

Thanks for that info. I wish they were like foreign cars. Zero outside smell issues with those vehicles.

Outside air vs recirculating inside air

Not old at all, I change it along with the engine air filter regularly. Both were changed last month.

Outside air vs recirculating inside air

That makes sense I've actually read an article stating that if you 'feel tired' while driving, open up the windows and get fresh air in there. That being said, I really wish 15% wasn't being introduced into the cabin because there are times when I'm in traffic and stuck behind a truck with a bad...

Does my 2020 Tahoe have an air compressor? I hear a noise, sometimes.

I've put 160k miles on the car and I just don't recall hearing that on startup. Of course I am not accusing you of being wrong, you seem to know what you are talking about, I'm just going off of my memory. When I first heard that noise happening more often (about a month ago) it was not a...

Does my 2020 Tahoe have an air compressor? I hear a noise, sometimes.

Great suggestion, I will give that a shot. Going off of memory, I don't recall hearing that noise right when I start the vehicle. You'd think if there were a small leak it would kick on the compressor to fill it with air, but I don't know much about the vehicle, I'm learning as I go. Thanks.

    2021 Tahoe Premier Transmission

I don't think I needed to purchase the battery with higher CCA, but I did (my research led me to 'buy the battery with the highest CCA for your vehicle' so I did). Had I bought a battery with the same CCA as what was OEM, I would not have needed to take out that bolt to allow for some additional...

    Yeah, that's interesting.

    2025 Yukon Denali 6.2 Transmission

I know they are not. However, it seems that both are American (yours and mine). I know foreign cars have issues, but all the foreign cars I've owned have not had issues with the transmission. Most of my family members all have foreign cars and they've never been to the shop for a transmission...

Does my 2020 Tahoe have an air compressor? I hear a noise, sometimes.

Get out at the intersection while waiting for a red light to check it out? Sorry, just trying to bring in some humor. If I happen to hear it while at home and parking the car, I'll do my best to try to get back there, but I only have a few seconds so we'll see.

Does my 2020 Tahoe have an air compressor? I hear a noise, sometimes.

This is also assuming that the noise I'm hearing is the compressor for the air suspension. It seems like it is, though.

    2025 Yukon Denali 6.2 Transmission

I'm looking at 2025's because of the transmission issue I had with my 2020 and this is not what I want to read. Why does GM have issues with transmissions and other manufactures have figured this out? Of course there are exceptions. I've owned many other vehicles before buying my first Tahoe in...

    2021 Tahoe Premier Transmission

I changed out my own battery about two months ago, one thing that was a surprise to me was that many batteries were compatible with my car, but I purchased one with slightly larger CCA than what was in the vehicle (I didn't know to check what I had in the vehicle, I assumed the CCA were all the...

Does my 2020 Tahoe have an air compressor? I hear a noise, sometimes.

I hear it daily at least once or twice from what I recall.

Does my 2020 Tahoe have an air compressor? I hear a noise, sometimes.

Lately I've noticed that when I'm waiting at a stoplight (no road noise) I can hear a very slight humming noise, the best way to describe it would be similar to an air compressor but very quiet and/or muffled. I would say that I can hear it run for about 5-7 seconds and then it stops. It is very...

Outside air vs recirculating inside air

I've noticed that when I have the button to recirculate the air inside the cabin, I can still smell the outside air. I'll add that the defrost isn't on because I know that will cause outside air to enter the vehicle. I bought my 2020 Tahoe brand new, but I suppose that doesn't mean it didn't...

6L80 Torque Converter, question for newer models

I had the mechanic I took the car to put in a non GM transmission, not sure if that includes the torque converter or not. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know much about those details. There is a warranty and I don't plan on having the car when the warranty period is over. That's one of the...

6L80 Torque Converter, question for newer models

I have a 2020 Tahoe that I purchased brand new and at around 140k miles the transmission went out. The garage I took the car to told me that several models/years of GM vehicles have this issue and it isn't related to lack of maintenance but a bad design/bad component. He told me to look up 6L80...

    Oil Change - 2020 Tahoe

Thanks, this makes sense. I get what you are saying but I'm new to all of this and since I don't have the background/experience that many of you have, I only have the manual to go by.

I wrote that when I didn't realize the high mileage I posted isn't dexos rated. My mistake. Thanks.

    Oil Change - 2020 Tahoe

Yes, that is a good point. I missed that the high mileage one I posted doesn't have the dexos logo on it. I'm surprised I missed that because I usually pay attention to that, I even posted the site with the dexos oil to confirm. I believe my focus shifted to the high mileage part and I...

    Oil Change - 2020 Tahoe

I have not watched those yet, but I will. Not specific to that video, but using mobil 1 as my example (since that is what I have in my original post), if a vehicle has high mileage, should the high mileage version of the oil be used? What does the dealer do? What does a mechanic garage do (not...

    Oil Change - 2020 Tahoe

I wasn't planning on going 10k or more, just curious about the oil that advertises it is for vehicles with high mileage vs the oil that doesn't state that. I assume it was marketing stuff. I've always changed my oil at 7k which is inline with the oil percentage on the display and I'd say 80% of...

    Oil Change - 2020 Tahoe

I will take a look, thanks. What about the washer on the drain plug does that need to be replaced with each change? I've read both yes and no. I was looking at this one. Just minimal research so far so I'm not 100% sure...
