My 2001 chev tahoe has had a hesitation on acceleration. It happens when I start and put it in gear and drive away. It's worse in the morning on first startup. It always starts with no issues. I've done the usual tuneup included a fuel filter but nothing helped.
I tested my fuel pressure with...
Quick question... How long is it supposed to take for a Engine light to come on when you disconnect your MAF sensor? I disconnected my harness to see if it would make a difference and it didn't. Nor did the engine light come on. I took it around the block and on the hiway but no light.. turned...
I replaced the pcv valve and tried injector cleaner through 2 tanks of gas.. still no fix.. Next step im gonna try is MAF change.. gonna swap it with another one..
I'm getting a dead spot still when i drive and the vehicle is cold.. It will start fine get going but when i try to accelerate...
Tha plug wires are brand new factory wires.. the plugs are changed as well to factory plugs..
I had the stumble and loss of power before i did the plugs, wires, fuel filter and everything else.. The plugs and wires got rid of my rough idle and hesitation at take off but i still have a lack...
Ok so quick update..... I found SOME of the problem.. my hesitation when accelerating from stop and rough idle was almost 100% cured by spark plug wires.. Turns out i got a faulty wire in there somewhere and was having a cyl 6 misfire but no code.. I put the wires in AND IT FIXED THE PROBLEM...
Ok so i think the dealership is my next stage..
I've started to notice a rough idle in park and in gear. It gets worse with the a/c blowing and has a hesitation when you first step on the throttle lightly. There are no codes being thrown other than PO446 & P0453 (both evap codes)
Things...
They said the diffs and transfer case were good to go. The coolant needs a flush and the tranny is still red but smells burnt so they recomended a flush.
The vehicle has 202,000kms on it and it is 4WD..
Ok so i was in the dealer today getting an oil change done on my 2001 Tahoe and they noticed that the tranny fluid smelt burnt but was the proper color. I recently purchased this 2001 Tahoe about 5 months ago and am not sure the longterm condition. I'm also not sure if the previous owner did a...
anyone know the proper way to clean the emmision cannister on the rear? I'm getting a check engine light and was told to just clean it out real well because of dust.. Apparently its common to clog and not allow the switch to work.. Anyone got advice or a writeup perhaps?
Ok so upon further digging i cross checked the TR55GP NGK plugs and from what i've found either they have upgraded to a different plug or dont list that specific plug for this vehicle. As well under more review the plug doesn't have a good turnout.. Seems that after 1000miles the plugs act up...
Here is the video of my pressure test.. I was told to hold it at 2500rpm and see if it goes about the green.. It doesn't.. However when i rev it to 4000rpm the gauge spkies large.. Is this normal?

I also attached pictures of the spark plugs and...
I went to purchase the regular sea foam but they were out. So i bought the spray. From what i read they say the spray breaks up easier but for some reason i think the 1/3 in each would make a better solution. Who knows though..
Before i do plugs and wires i was told to do a Exhaust Pressure...
So I used the sea foam spray that goes directly into the intake while revving. I followed the exact steps but not a whole lot of white smoke came out. Maybe a couple large puffs but nothing crazy.
I also cleaned the throttle body and butterfly/plate before hand.
I haven't noticed any...
So i recently purchased my 2000 Tahoe (new body style) and am looking to put some nice wheels on it. I found a great deal on a set of 22" 6x5.5 wheels and tires that came off a infiniti qx4. Down side is the tires are 265/35r22's and the offset is around the +15 - +20mm.. From what i understand...
I've never used seafoam before.. If i'm correct it should be 1/3 in the gas, 1/3 in the oil fill cap and 1/3 sucked in the brake booster vac line?
I've also seen some people just add it to the gas tank instead..
Is the seafoam ok for the engine. I assume since they make the product but...
You have a good point. I'll start there and I guess if that's not my fix at least I'm confident it's been tuned up. I'll spray the intake too while I'm in there. I've already cleaned the maf but noticed no change. I'll post pics for an update.
It's got 202000kms. I haven't noticed any coolant issues or fluid issues at all.. Although this is one vehicle that I haven't checked the plugs, cap, rotor or fuel filter.
Didn't seem like it helped.. Im going to try the throttle body cleaning tonight and give you an update tomorrow.. I'd like to make sure it isn't a transmission issue before i spend the $$ on 22" shoes for her.. here's hoping she gets new shoes:hands:
Fortunatly I have a code reader handy.. The codes are
P0446 Evap Emmission system vent control circut
P0453 Evap Emmission system pressure sensor/switch high input
Same codes I had before that refers to the Canister or switch issue.. No new codes were thrown..
