So my HVAC is out again in my 2000 Yukon. Last time it was the resistor in the winter which i replaced with a rockauto part. When the resistor went out it was gradual and this time it just stopped working with a bit of burnt electric smell. The fuse wound up being blown so i replaced it and...
Well I managed to get it to hold together using brute force. Got a spring to hold the lock in a closed position so it will atleast hold shut until I can find a used one for cheap.
So my center console has been broke for a while and I cant figure out how to fix it. The damn lid doesn't latch and the mechanism to open it has fallen out. I'm tired of it flinging open on turns. Does anyone have a diagram showing how it works or Pics of the parts so I can figure out what to...
UPDATE: I changed out the intake manifold gaskets yesterday only to finish and now have 2 codes P0300 (random misfire) and P0200 (fuel injector fault). So I'm thinking an injector isn't getting power or has completely crapped out. Unfortunately I don't have access to the scan tool at the moment...
I have ordered the felpro gasket set. Hopefully this will solve the problem. I just did intake mani gaskets on my brothers 04 monte Carlo ss. What a pita.
Thanks for the pointers. I'll have to try the cigar smoke trick. The only issue with ordering the gaskets first is the fact that I would be stuck with finding an OEM intake manifold. If I go with an entire new dorman intake manifold it will come with gaskets for much less $.
I'm not thinking its the fuel pump but the fuel pressure regulator... which is mounted on the rail. I did look it up and GM spec is 55 - 62 with key on engine off.
I just read on another forum that 55 - 62 is gm's spec. and many people are having problems when it drops under 49 psi. So I guess I'm getting conflicting information.
UPDATE: got a fuel pressure gauge and measured 50 psi at the rails while at idle and would decrease to 45 psi when rev'd to 3k rpm. I then disconnected the vac line to the fuel pressure regulator and the pressure shot up to 60 psi at idle. So this would mean the FPR is the problem correct?
Rough idle only occurs when its cold but its also causing misfires. A friend of mine brought by his "tech 2" and scanned to confirm the random misfire in all cylinders and agreed that it is most likely the intake manifold or gasket as he has changed many of them. As far as the coolant.... I'm...
Ok I'll give the gaskets a shot. I thought the one piece manifolds only have rubber gaskets?
Yes, violent shaking and random missfires until warmed up. Edit: also a little coolant consumption.
So I know I have a vac leak at the intake manifold on my 2000 yuk 5.3 when the motor is cold. I was wondering if I should order a whole new intake manifold or just the gaskets to replace? Any advice? FYI the truck has 107k easily driven miles in it.
Thanks,
