Few issues w/ a Yukon Denali

The parking light ground makes sense... When I start the truck after setting the parking brake, the light is on (as it should be). I then release the P brake, the light is off. I then back up = no light. As soon as I put it in 'drive' and accelerate, the light comes on IMMEDIATELY... Location...

I believe...

1998 former Paramedic intercept unit- 260,000 HARD, beat miles. Still runs perfectly with an untouched driveline. Only wear and tear items were replced- tires, brakes and misc. We beat the hell out of the truck!

    Haahaa- need advice, decodes, etc

1996 Tahoe w/ 5.7. Noticed a few loud mechanical sounds coming from the engine. Also, misfiring like a mad truck- popping through the throttle body, misfiring going up grades, etc. Started with tune up parts= cap, plugs. rotor, wires, distributor, etc. No change. Then I got brave... 1)...

    Right steps for lifter issues?

Trying to diagnose several upper valvetrain 'ticks' on a 1996 Tahoe w/ 5.7 L engine. I figure it's stuck valves... 1) Stethescope to pinpoint the area 2) Remove valve covers to see if I have loose rockers OR bent pushrods 3) With covers off, make sure the oil is getting to the right areas...
