It really sounds to me like it wasn't primed or there was some sort of blockage, cuzz it sounds like you were running dry to me, hope you get this figured out bro looking forward to hearing the issue.
In an earlier post I said I had to hang out of the car to let myself out. 2 door. I just said driver's door and figured it would be understood since I didnt say the rear "driver's side" door. Sorry for the confusion.

I was thinking it was the interior handle not pulling the latch far enough but I replaced that. It seems to me like it has something to do with the latch itself
Im having the same problem with my drivers door Just havent had a chance to look at it, Mine actually messes up to where the door unlocks but I still have to manually unlock it from the outside in order to open the door total pita and i look stupid unlocking my truck with the key while im in it...
you could prolly squeeze something in there but there is alot of stuff latch wise to get around, I would make a box or two that saddles the fender well you wont loose a whole lot of space.
It is made by TJM They dont make one for the Chevy/GMC the brakets are custom built they make them for the "harsh conditions of the austrailian outback" or so they say lmao
