    rear spoiler

I've got the stock rear spoiler on my '97 2-door w/ tailgate. I am not sure how much it helps with keeping the back window cleaner, but it sure seems like my Dad's '99 4-door w/ barn doors without the spoiler gets really bad when driving in rain/wet weather. Also, I don't hate the way it looks.

    Removing Trim?

I pulled the trim off my '97 this past summer and was also curious about what I would find underneath that 16 year old trim.... I used a heat gun to loosen it all up, then peeled it back, finding some paint had chipped/bubbled/flaked off underneath. Because my paint wasn't perfect to begin...

    Red/maroon interiors?

The maroon interior doesn't make it look dated, it makes it look classic. It takes me back to riding in my Dad's '76 welding truck. Seriously, I would prefer a black interior had GM offered one, the tan and grey interiors are way too light for a vehicle that goes off road, and the blue is just...

    SS tahoe................

I like what you've done here. I was thinking of doing something like this with mine, as I have a section of paint that has chipped off. I did a quick plasti-dip stripe, but it came out looking so bad that I pulled it off the very same night. I'm thinking of just spraying the entire hood so it...

    paint and other exterior questions

I used Plasti-dip on the lower rocker panels on my '97 Tahoe, done a couple months ago and holding up well so far, driving on mostly pavement and gravel, no muddin'. Seems to last through car washes and weather with no problems either. Best part is that its so cheap, if it doesn't last, i'll...

Initial projects: headlights, fender flares, trim removal

Back to work on this thing, finally got time to take some pictures. I removed the bodyside molding back in July and found that there were some areas that needed paintwork (some bubbling and chipping happening). Still haven't given the rust my full attention, and I know at this point it is going...

    Seat Covers or Upholdstery

I went with the Coverking's on my last truck. Got them from autoupgradedirect.com for a decent price and there was a good selection. Fit was PERFECT and they held up great for the 2 years I had them. Mine were the "spacer mesh" covers, did the front row (9 separate pieces) of my Tundra for $119...

Initial projects: headlights, fender flares, trim removal

I definitely got the OEM style flares, as I am not getting any wide mud tires on this thing. The crazy-wide flares with "highway" tires would not be a good match in my opinion. Too bad I didn't know you were swapping yours, I would have offered to buy those shit-looking flares off of you ;)

Initial projects: headlights, fender flares, trim removal

Thanks everybody! I have been working really hard trying to find the time to tackle the to-do list. Dudeface, I am loving your Tahoe. Yours is the exact look I am going for, no bodyside molding, newer rims, and those same fender flares. I checked out some of your other posts and pics, what a...

Initial projects: headlights, fender flares, trim removal

I have the Bushwackers in my shop, uninstalled... Still waiting to get the bodywork plan together. I ordered the OE Style (1.25"), as I don't plan on getting too carried away with wider tires or anything else too spendy. This is gonna remain my spare vehicle for winter driving and toy hauling...

Initial projects: headlights, fender flares, trim removal

Trim removal went alright, some paintwork to be done underneath, but overall an improvement. Some of the quotes on the rust repair are higher than what I paid for the Tahoe, so I'm not sure what I'll be doing just yet. Now onto the rims. I've already got a set of rims from an '03 Silverado...

Initial projects: headlights, fender flares, trim removal

Update/Question Well, after a few weeks of too much other stuff going on, I finally got around to installing my replacement lights and grille. Everything looks great, but as I had read, the fitment of the aftermarket grille was a real pain. It was tight, but looks like a new front end after the...

Initial projects: headlights, fender flares, trim removal

Well, I ended up going with the OEM-style replacement lights, and after receiving them, I am very satisfied. They are gonna look great with the replacement grille I also picked up. I also went ahead and ordered the Bushwacker fender flares, getting it all put together soon. Haven't decided on...

Satin Black for fender flares, bumpers??

Any progress since your last post? Pictures? I'm also in the process of fixing up a '97 2-door, have some minor rust issues on the rockers/paint flaking on the hood and am looking at doing something similar to what you have said here after my body work is complete. Curious as to how much a full...

Initial projects: headlights, fender flares, trim removal

New owner/member here. Just beginning the search for some BUDGET FRIENDLY replacement parts for my Black '97 2-door Tahoe. First up: my lights are hazed and have to go. Found these (pictured) on amazon for $90, think they might be nice, but no reviews. I also found in a old thread that the...

    Hey from MN!

Hey everybody! New to the forum here and have been looking around for a 2-door Tahoe for a very long time now. I finally picked one up last week! Its a '97 LS 4X4 w/ 165K miles, in great shape, and I picked it up for ~$3200. I have a lot of ideas for it but have to tackle things one at a time...
