I am looking for a recommendation for front shocks for my 97 Tahoe 4x4 4dr. Current Monroe shocks (59582) are making squeeking noise and it has become annoying. 5 yrs/20k miles on the Monroe shocks and they are shot. Street driving, virtually no off-road. Thanks
SOLVED: Replaced the cover/control board inside the Electro Motor Cruise Control module with a used cover/control board of the exact same Electro Motor Cruise Control model # purchased off E-Bay and the cruise now works properly. So it appears that the issue was a failed control board.
Well the celebration was short. Took the Tahoe out this morning and the cruise wouldn't engage. So that rules out the brake light switch as the cause. I understand there can be mechanical failure inside the Electro Motor-Cruise Control unit that is attached to the firewall directly in front...
Yes, my vocab was fully utilized as I tried over and over and over to get the existing retainer clip to release and then again over and over and over to get the new retainer clip on, without having any space to put my fingers on the retainer clip at all. I must have dropped the retainer clip at...
I ordered Brake Light Switch ACD#1565E/GM#93801734 from Summit Racing with a new identical retainer clip from the Dorman GM Brake Light Switch Retainers 6 pack #13808 (Advanced Auto). It was a royal pain in the you know what to navigate tools, hand, switch, and retainer up above the steering...
Hello forum friends. Back here with another issue with my 97 Tahoe 4x4 5.7. This weekend while crusing along at around 65 mph with my cruise control engaged, the gas pedal suddenly released from its holding position and the cruise control was no longer holding my speed. I was unable to...
You are correct. The compressor is going bad per today's visit to the repair shop. It did not exhibit these symptoms when the discharge lines were replaced and the orifice tube wasn't replaced at that time. I was advised to continue to use the system until it simply no longer cools and then...
I removed the serpentine belt and was able to spin the compressor and it is totally silent. Would this suggest that the noise may be clutch related? I will take it to the mechanic tomorrow that replaced my discharge lines, evac'd and recharged the system 6 weeks ago and see what he thinks is...
6 weeks ago, as a result of losing all the freon over the prior 8 months. I had my A/C discharge hose line set replaced and A/C system evacuated and recharged with A/C subsequently blowing cold. For a few weeks the system ran fine but now I am hearing an unusual noice coming from the compressor...
I replaced the EVAP purge valve solenoid with the following part ordered off EBAY Motors. Pictures of the old part are attached to this post. The identical part by part # and manufacturer was installed. I restarted the engine and the Service Engine Soon light remained. I connected my FIXD scan...
P1441 code suggests a malfunction of the vapor canister purge valve solenoid. I ordered one ($30) and will install it upon arrival. I checked the vacuum line at the connection to the vapor canister and to the purge valve and I don't see any charcoal particles coming out of the line at either...
Bingo. That is exactly the failure in my housing. Brilliant to make that door and shaft out of plastic knowing that it will cycle through high heat and cold for 20 years! A real rocket scientist designed that! Dumb ---.
Just had rotors, drums, brake pads and shoes replaced on my 97 Tahoe, 5.7. Coincidently within a few days the "Service Engine Soon" light came on and has stayed on. I am assuming this is unrelated to the brake service. I also recently replaced the charcoal fuel vapor canister that sits up near...
This is what I need to replace
