All,
Thank you so much for the replies. The buttons on my steering wheel work. I'll do some digging on how to take apart the steering wheel and check out the clock spring.
Thank you, and will keep you updated.

Hi Guys,
As the title states...there is a scratching/crackling noise coming from my steering wheel when I turn it. It happens when I am stopped and driving.
The car has about 160K miles on it, and it just started about 500 miles ago. I took a video. Please see the link below. My initial...
Hi All!
As the title states, I am nearing 155K miles on my '04 Yukon Denali. Great truck. What things should I look out for / replace for preventative maintenance? Fluid changes? Bushings? Etc...
Had my transmission rebuilt 10K miles ago. Running smooth.
Thanks a bunch!
Interesting. I will run that by my mechanic. He told me he is going to pick up the truck today (from the tranny guy) and re-program it using his computer.
Maybe that will solve the problem?
Thanks
Ah! It is a 4 speed auto. No tune. Flared from 2-3. Had it rebuilt, flare still exists. Assuming a re-flash or maybe something along the lines of that is necessary?
Isn't that the mechanic's job to check before rebuilding the transmission?
How much could that potentially run me? We know...
Apologies for the delayed response. So the decision was made to rebuild the transmission. The rebuilt went well except for one problem....it still slips. So now we are thinking it is a computer issue? My mechanic also swapped in a transmission without any problems, and the shifting still slips...
Hi All,
I have a 2004 GMC Yukon Denali. As the title states, my transmission slips while shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. Right as it is about to shift into 3rd, RPMs just jump and it slips completely for a few seconds until it goes into 3rd. It is very noticeable while driving uphill.
I...
Hmm. I had my power steering pump rebuilt about 40K miles ago. If the pulley is bad, can that just be replaced? Or does the whole thing need to be replaced?
Thanks for the comments guys!
So I slipped the belt off and ran the car. The noise was not there anymore. So it must be one of the accessories. When the belt was on, I checked all the pulleys and how they were sinning. Everything seemed okay. The alternator was making some noise close up, but I think that is normal. I spun...
Cool thank you for the reply. So when the belt is off and I don't hear the noise anymore... I spin each of the pulley's by hand. Will me spinning a pulley by hand cause it to make the noise it is normally making with the belt on?
Thanks!
Hello all. I have looked and posted in other GM forums, but haven't receive much help!
My problem is as follows. My GMC Yukon Denali '04 has recently been giving me a few problems. Mostly wear and tear, but this one is prominent and is not going away. I have had it checked out by my local...
Cool thank you guys for the replies. The truck is an amazing truck. We have a 2010 Escalade in our family as well. Not built nearly as good as the previous generation.
This car has been in my family since day one. I have been taking care of it on the dot as much as I could. So far some major problems (but not uncommon) have been the front differential, air ride compressor in the rear and my water pump.
I was wondering what things I have to look out for...
