2007 Tahoe LTZ 5.3 4x4 Whipple or Magnuson

I know the source, it is my leaking oil pan and rear main seal, at least that is what the oil soaked piece of cardboard suggest to me on my garage floor, and the fact that it likes to mark its territory everywhere we go like a male dog. If I let it idle for 5 min I will leave an oil spot the...

2007 Tahoe LTZ 5.3 4x4 Whipple or Magnuson

I am considering installing either a Whipple or Magnuson SC on my 2007 Tahoe, does anyone have opinions which is better and why? I have 313,000 miles on it, and it runs like a top, even with a leaking rear main seal I only use 2 quarts every 4000 or so miles, trans shifts good, no lights...

What vehicles have the same transmission

Any 2007-2008 Tahoe, Yukon, Sierra, Silverado with the 5.3L should be basically the same, I would think the 4.8 would also have the same transmission. Apparently the 6.2L got the new (6L80) 6 speed.

Please look at this quote. I told them they were crazy but wanted your guys option.

The wheels you can take off and send to detroitwheelandtire.com and they will refinish them for you for less than that. I had a set of 20" x 10" Dodge Durango SRT wheels done for around $700 total.. I dropped them off, so that helped with price for sure.

    door ding removal

Funny, when I read this at first I was wondering why anyone would want to remove the chime when the door was open, then i realized he meant a small dent. Most dealers have a PDR guy, you could ask them, I have had several small dents (Dings) removed and most places do a really good job, I...

    Misfire and headlight dimming

I replaced spark plugs and wires 1-7, I can never do 8, so I pay someone to do it for me. I was not getting a misfire on 8, however if I continue to get a misfire I will be getting new battery cables, I appreciate the input on that. I have a friend who I asked about my issue and he said the...

    Misfire and headlight dimming

2007 Tahoe LTZ, 4L60, 4x4, 311,000 miles. A week ago I noticed upon hard acceleration that there was something amiss, I could feel the engine misfire. Then 2 days ago the engine would misfire pretty bad at a cold startup, but it went mostly away as it warmed up. I thought I got some bad gas...

What would you do? Truck Needs Engine?

A spun lifter happens because the guides that keep it from spinning are apparently plastic now, instead of the old days that used a steel or cast iron guide. A spun lifter would trash the cam, a collapsed lifter usually does not trash the cam it just runs like garbage. Low compression might...

What would you do? Truck Needs Engine?

Look at any service manual from 50 years ago and it will give instructions on how to rebuild an engine, rebuild a steering pump, rebuild a steering box, rebuild an AC compressor, rebuild just about everything. Look at new service manuals and they have "Replace engine" Consider this, if you...

What would you do? Truck Needs Engine?

Throw a LS7 427 from a Corvette in it, or better yet an LS9 Supercharged. Make it fun to drive. Honestly get a second opinion.

New Yukon SLE or Used SLT?

It is the foam they have to use. My coworker's girlfriend (been together for 10 years mind you) works for a major interior supplier in Michigan. The reason why new seats are so uncomfortable is the government has mandated they meet biodegradable requirements, therefore the foam they used 10...

New Yukon SLE or Used SLT?

You are only going to go backwards. The last "comfortable" seating were the 07-14, and the previous generation thru 06 were even way way better than that.

    10Lxx vs 8Lxx vs 6Lxx Replacement for 4L65

My 2007 Tahoe has the 4 Speed transmission. Honestly, from what I have heard it is a better, more reliable transmission than the 6, 8, or 10 speeds.

    DOD Delete Cost

The problem with the DOD, as per my understanding is the constant collapse and then expansion of the DOD lifters, if you eliminate them from collapsing, then in theory they should not wear out, unless they are already worn. I plugged in a RANGE DOD disabler at around 200K, and I change my oil...

whine from rear BOSE speakers (Not rear control unit)

2007 Tahoe LTZ - BOSE Radio. I seem to be developing a whine in my rear speakers, I have replaced the rear center console heater control unit with 2 different new GM units and they both did the same thing. So I highly doubt that the rear controls are the issue. I am wondering what others...

GMT800 vs GMT900. Which to buy?

The Catalytic Convertor, is almost always the Right Side (Bank 2), one time out of the 5 it has failed was bank 1, every other time is Bank 2. It lasted about 70,000 miles this last time, I think this last failure was my own fault because I took so long to replace Cyl 8 spark plug. I have...

GMT800 vs GMT900. Which to buy?

As mentioned before, I have 280K on my 2007 Tahoe LTZ. In January my wife and me went to Hawaii, and we rented a newer Tahoe GMT900. It was a nice truck had some newer features, but it did not have anything that made me want one. And, with only 60,000 miles on it the truck ran like garbage...

GMT800 vs GMT900. Which to buy?

I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ, 280,000 miles, burns no oil, original 4 speed Transmission (never rebuilt) The only recurring issue I have is the catalytic convertor likes to fail, and no one can diagnose why. I had the rear axle rebuilt at around 200K due to a funny noise. Beyond that it has been...

    Radio drains battery.

2007 Tahoe LTZ I just read this thread https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/factory-radio-wont-shut-off-rap-issue.141648/ The thread above seems to point to the primary switch on the drivers door, either the door actuator, or the main switch (with the window switches, door locks etc) And...

2007 Right turn signal turns on Brights - SOLVED

UPdate: Ended up purchasing a new turn signal 15849314 from GM Parts Direct, ended up paying $34.05 + $12.45 for Shipping total of $45.50. The switch is easy to swap out, you do need a size 25 Torx bit (preferably a driver) a small flat screw driver or a pick. Pretty straight forward. 1)...
