Towing MPG (interested in all years, 2000 - 2017)

Seems a bit odd but I get about the same towing a 3000# car on open aluminum trailer at 75 in 3rd as driving around town in D - around 11. Can get 14 on the highway w/o tow.

A DIFFERENT STUCK SPARE TIRE PROBLEM

I'll try to take a photo through the bolts holes but, like I said, my mechanism does not look like ones in the videos or like the one on your '03 Tahoe. IIRC there are no bolts holding it on - looks like it is welded or bonded.

A DIFFERENT STUCK SPARE TIRE PROBLEM

My problem w/ my 2006 Escalade is not the typical secondary latch catching when the tire goes down 3-4". I have a similar but worse problem. The cable lowers but the spare is jammed up tight and will not budge. The tire cannot even be rotated it is so tight. Also, the mechanism on mine does not...

2006 Esky Back Up Warning Signals

Seems like every time I turn around some fancy function in this old but fancy truck is different. Seat, mirrors, etc. It used to be that when I backed up there were no chimes or warning lights in the back (seen in rearview mirror) but as you neared an object there were 3 successive lights. Very...

    Autoride issues

Does anyone have a link to troubleshooting the level control system step by step. For dummies. The one in my '06 Escalade worked fine until recently, just does not come on.

Woman took my car... civil issue... trying to get it back

No sympathy from me. I don't like the way he described the situation leaving out important facts at best and misleading at worst. I think Rocket Man has it nailed.

    Best wiper blades

Sorry, but I just refuse to use any blade whose name is less than 13 words, not going to do it. The Ultimate Durability and Extreme All-Weather Performance Wiper Blade - Rain-X® Silicone AdvantEdge™ come up just short.

Is the Denali Hands Down the Best Tow Vehicle?

I have, and specifically sought out, RWD. I'm getting 11-12 pulling a 3000# car on open aluminum trailer. On flat terrain I think I'd get 13 and could even put it in D and do better.

Front Seat Covers for '06 Escalade?

OK, thanks, mine does have the pin holes and I was able to remove the headrest. But the cover I bought still does not work because the shoulder belt connects to the seat back and the cover will, well, cover up the belt. So, I'll modify my query to a cover that provides for integral shoulder...

Is the Denali Hands Down the Best Tow Vehicle?

FWIW I'm thrilled w/ my Escalade. I towed my car from Memphis to Atlanta in 3rd on cruise at 74-77 and not once did it kick down. And got a bit better mileage than my 5.3/3.42 Tahoe.

Front Seat Covers for '06 Escalade?

I'd like some seat covers just to protect (w/o looking like crap) my pristine seats when I've gotten dirty. The headrests are not removable. Has anyone found an inexpensive cover that fits well?

Are all 6.0 GMC Denali's AWD? Longevity of AWD?

The only GMT800 w/ the 6.0, 3:73 rear end, and RWD is the Escalade. Most were AWD but you can find one, as I did. I just bought a 1-owner '06 w/ 73,000 miles!

Is the Denali Hands Down the Best Tow Vehicle?

Thanks to this forum I think I bought the best GMT800 tow truck! '06 1-owner Escalade w/ 72,600 miles, black w/ nice 20" chrome wheels, 6.0, 3.73, RWD, looks and drives like new. The only "downside" is that I bought as a double duty truck to replace my '02 Tahoe work truck and also as a better...

I loaded with dirt bags inside my yr 18 tahoe rst the suspension went down a lot in rear

I remain confused on whether the auto leveling is part of the Autoride system or just always packaged together but the auto leveling has its own RPO, G69. Mine actually has "AUTORIDE" below the LT on the C pillar plaque.

Looking To Join The Club... Denali, or Escalade??

Or here if people who have bought or sold similar trucks fairly recently chime in. Hence, my question.

Looking To Join The Club... Denali, or Escalade??

I have been looking for a tow/work truck and have gone from Tahoe to Denali and now to Escalade because only it has the 6.0 and RWD. Found only 3-4 in the entire Southeast on Craig's List. Looking at a clean, 3-owner '06 6 hours from me w/ 135,000 miles, $8950. What's it worth?

Is the Denali Hands Down the Best Tow Vehicle?

I think we established that the drive preference is RWD, 4WD, AWD, which moves Denalis down the list, all else equal. To now I have not even considered Escalades because, well, they're Escalades. Not sure I can get my arms around that. But I just now found a 135,000 mile RWD Escalade in Tulsa...

Is the Denali Hands Down the Best Tow Vehicle?

"Not sure what you mean about the Z71. They're no different than any other tahoe in that regard." Except most are 4WD. Well, James, seems like we've come full circle back to Denalis. Or a Tahoe engine swap. If I can buy a clean 150,000 mile Denali for $6000-$8000 why would I bother w/ a swap?

Is the Denali Hands Down the Best Tow Vehicle?

“ if all towing” Not all towing, “ It is also a work truck so I don't want one too nice.” “Have you considered a 2500.” “You want a 2500 with a 6-speed transmission!” Is there such a thing as a 2500 non-XL NBS? It was Mikeyss who recommended 4WD over AWD but 2WD best of all for towing...

2019 Tahoe Z71 or HD towing package

If one orders the Max Tow Package then they must want a real tow beast. So why the 3.42? This discussion got off track and ended up Max Tow vs. Z71 when the O.P. asked about HD Tow vs. Z71; that is what I meant.

Is the Denali Hands Down the Best Tow Vehicle?

First thing is, as I suggested above, I want to be able to put it in cruise at 74 and pretty much forget about it. Real hills, sure I need to back out of cruise, but it is so annoying when it kicks down to 2nd and screams going over even some overpasses. What is more likely to alleviate that -...

Is the Denali Hands Down the Best Tow Vehicle?

I have to stay w/ the GMT800 because I need a full, flat cargo area for plywood, sheetrock, etc. The bigger ones won't fit in my garage.
