    A heartfelt thank you...

After six months of waiting the kid's new car was finally delivered. The Yukon has served us well and it's time to let it go. I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum for all of the help over the years. What an amazing group. Without advice and help from this site I probably would have...

    Par for the Course

Yeah. If anything looks off I will replace it all. I couldn't, in good conscience, sell it if I knew something wasn't fixed properly.

    Par for the Course

My son is taking a long road trip so he took the wife's new explorer and I am driving the Yukon. His new car should be delivered early November so I was doing one last round of fluid changes last night before she goes off to someone else. Lo and behold, the ac blower resistor died. I guess it...

    RIP

I dodge at least one vehicle a day where I can clearly see the person texting. So glad it turned out the way it did. Could have been so much worse. Good luck finding your next vehicle and I hope it serves as well.

    Pinion Gear

The noise the pinion gear makes when it goes out sounds like a cash register. Just in case you ever hear it. On the positive side, the Yukon now seems quite quiet.

    Help me with TPMS problem

    1. Apply parking brake. Turn ignition to ON position (engine off) 2. Turn headlight switch from OFF to parking lamps 4 times within 4 seconds. A double horn chirp will sound and the TPMS telltale will begin blinking to indicate the learn mode is enabled. 3. Starting at the LF tire...

    Blend Door Actuators - Tonight

The guy helping me also had one of them gen-u-wine Tech 2 scanners so we knew what the problem was before we did all this and tested and calibrated everything after. Find you a friend like that (that has smaller hands than you).

    Blend Door Actuators - Tonight

If you can find one, this would have made it a lot easier...not really enough room for the socket https://shop.snapon.com/product/Midget%2C-mm/5.5-mm-6-Point-Metric-Flank-Drive-Midget-Combination-Wrench/OXIM55SB

    Blend Door Actuators - Tonight

The two that are easier to get to were done previously. What we did to get to the one behind the dash was pull the vent to the left of the airbag, pull the airbag and remove the glove box. From there you are able to see the actuator behind some steel and a wiring harness and below the vents...

    Blend Door Actuators - Tonight

Everything went well. Took about an hour. Did not remove the dash, just pulled the vents and the airbag and went in that way. Works perfect. I never use aftermarket parts. Everything was GM original from the GMC dealership parts counter.

    Blend Door Actuators - Tonight

Changing out the actuator that controls the left / right heat and cold up front. That's the one behind the dash. Also changing out the one for the rear air. Y'all pray no small children walk by the shop because they may get scarred for life.

    Offroad Tires

They just absolutely sucked. Road noise was terrible compared to other brand offerings. Did not last but 30,000 miles. Never could get them balanced perfect. They were bad enough the Ford dealer who kept trying to make them right finally just gave up and comp'd me a new set of tires. The Tahoe...

    Front Suspension

Spent $466 on Amazon to get the AC Delco pro series UCA's and LCA's. Had to also replace axles for $125 each. Bilstein 5100's I think were around $150. Used moog tie rod ends and sway bar links. Plan on about $1000 in parts if you have to replace everything. Now, if you have to pay someone to do...

The endless "I was doing x and found y" with my truck

It was a pretty big hit doing the front. Will do the rear probably early next year. Inspected them and they seem fine but it won't hurt to change them out.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Last night I changed out the lower control arms, upper control arms and front axles with nice, shiny new stuff. Truck rides fantastic now. Used the GM Professional UCA and LCA's. Heavier than what came on the truck initially. The bushings were pretty much gone.

I had the STT Pro's on my F-150. Suffice it to say, I will not be buying them again.

I have Husky's in my latest F150. Had Weathertech in the old one. Like the Husky's better.

Yeah, that's what I have noticed. Fronts take a beating on these trucks.
