$18K Repair on 2010 Burb? Yup, it made sense.

I plan to do the same thing to my 2005. When it needs the engine, I will do it. Transmission, I will do it. You can see in my Build Thread, how much I have replaced that works with the future new components.

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

Yea, I got a 1/4" and a 3/8" drive flex extension too. Very handy when a wobble extension will not work.

Need front driveshaft and TC motor for '05 2500 Burb

It is really up to you. I would stick with 3/4 ton parts because putting in 1/2 ton parts may bite you later. There are many choices depending on length and RPO code options. If you look at RA, you can see many options and you can compare the differences between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. If you...

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

Even with the 3 bay Snap On lower cabinet, my sockets and ratchets top drawer, was very crowded. If I wanted a specific extension or ratchet, I had to sort thru all of the choices to find what I wanted. Got tired of it and went to HF and bought a roll around cart. I transferred over all my...

    Brake noise

Is the vehicle still under warranty? Did you ask the dealer the same question? IMO, it is not unusual for brakes to have a slight squeak/squeal the first few times the brakes are applied, after sitting overnight. Moisture in the air settles on the cold surface of the rotor and the combination...

I used to think that getting a longer filter was an advantage. IMO, the oil pressure builds faster with the stock...

Welcome to the forum from Oregon. Like @Marky Dissod said, should be 2 up front of catalytic converter because of one in each side of the "Y" pipe and one sensor after the catalytic converter.

    Final call!!

Yes, welcome to the forum. You do need to verify, with matching RPO codes, that the gear ratio is the same. Also, like @wjburken said, one long sentence is confusing and will drive some members away when trying to help, me included.

You likely already have an "organization" method. I recently did an engine replacement for my neighbor across the street, on his 2006 F150 5.4 4x4. Did the transmission at same time. Every thing removed was marked and stacked in order and all fasteners were put in small zip lock bags and marked...

Good call. I forgot about that. I did not know that started in 2004. I have had to give bad news to a previous customer about the TIPM problems on her 2017 Cherokee.

    Wheel spacing

Yes, my opinion on wheel spacers, DO NOT USE THEM and DO NOT LIFT THE TRUCK! A whole can of worms and stresses. Going back to stock everything will cost money but still less of it in the long run. The only "performance" I have done to my 2005 Tahoe Z71 is, a traditional tune by Black Bear...
