    High Mileage Yukon/Tahoe Problems

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely look at the tensioner when I have the belt off. As for the transmission, I had a flush done at 200000km and have been avoiding it since.

    High Mileage Yukon/Tahoe Problems

My main worry at this point is the transmission crapping out on me. It's not acting up yet, but I have done quite a lot of heavy towing with it. Everything else that can go wrong, other then the engine itself, will just start to nickle and dime me to death. Well, I haven't changed them and...

    High Mileage Yukon/Tahoe Problems

I'm looking for stories from people that have over 250 000 miles on their 5.3 liter Yukons and Tahoes. I'm going to be pushing mine over that number soon and I'm trying to get an idea as to what will break next. I've had my 2007 Yukon SLT since early 2009. I purchased it with approximately...

Very Hard 1-2 shift, Service Stabilitrak Light

Its been suggested many time to go to a dealership and have the Tech II hooked up while this is happening. I managed to make it into the dealer once last year while this was occurring, unfortunately, all it said was that it was in failsafe mode, there was no reason given for the fault lights...

    New Grille options

Turns out GM makes a chrome replacement grille for these, actually several different color options. GM Part # 17801284

Very Hard 1-2 shift, Service Stabilitrak Light

Possible resolution to this problem, recharged the battery! When this problem started I'd been practically living in my Yukon for a week on a jobsite, running power inverters to charge laptops, a cel booster going constantly, recharging phones etc. etc. I just attributed the issues I was...

    LY5 tank into LMG

I've talked it over with a couple of GM parts guys and they seem 99% sure everything will fit. I'm goina pick up the parts this weekend, but I'm hoping someone else has some feedback on this before I do the 5 hour drive to pick the stuff up.

Very Hard 1-2 shift, Service Stabilitrak Light

Interesting, mine will come and go while I'm driving, mostly disappears while on the highway. I haven't had any problems with reverse though. ---------- Post added at 09:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:47 AM ---------- I'm hoping its something similar, was your entire bearing...

    LY5 tank into LMG

I need to replace the fuel sending unit and probably the fuel tank in an 07 Yukon. The problem is nobody has any of the flex fuel parts in stock (LMG) only the LY5 parts. I am never going to use flexfuel because the area I am living in does not sell flex fuel and most likely won't for quite...

Very Hard 1-2 shift, Service Stabilitrak Light

My 07 Yukon recently developed an interesting issue, it will randomly flash up a "Service Stabilitrak" "Traction Control off" or "Service Stabilitrak" warning message. While this warning is displayed and only while its displayed, it will shift very hard from 1st to 2nd gear, the shift is hard...

    New Grille options

I recently had an unfortunate incident involving a deer, gravel road and the front end of my Yukon. Needless to say, among other things, the grille is getting replaced and I'm looking at going with something a bit different. For some reason I really like the look of the chrome slat grill...

    Remove lift gate interior cover

As for cutting the hole, the service bulletin has a picture of where to drill, the panel has a mark formed into it for this purpose. Which means they anticipated this very problem, but couldn't be bothered to put some sort of secondary release on the inside, whether electrical or mechanical.

    Remove lift gate interior cover

I was doing some more research on this and came across GM Service Bulletin 08-08-66-004 Procedure to Open Liftgate If Inoperative in Closed Position. It requires the service tech to drill a 1 1/8" hole in a particular spot in order to access the latch and manually release, then use a panel...

    Remove lift gate interior cover

Basically, I need to figure out how to get at the wiring for the rear liftgate switch, with the liftgate closed. I have a 2007 Yukon with a regular rear liftgate (not power) that has recently stopped working. When I grab the handle and pull on the switch nothing happens, no clicking or any...
