    Projector headlights... Any regrets?

My regret is not doing a true HID RETROFIT with the first set of headlights I swapped in. I went with similar halo ring housings for my Denali. Most of these aftermarket housings have cheap plastic projector lenses that aren’t any better quality than the OEM projectors, a lot of them have H1...

Tahoe LTZ chrome wheels - nasty marks - help needed

Yes I think that’s correct. I’ve even lately seen a handful of Denali SUVs on latest generation half ton ram wheels as I believe the bolt pattern is the same but something about the center bore line of the wheel being slightly smaller?! Not sure though I could see one particular set looking...

Tahoe LTZ chrome wheels - nasty marks - help needed

Nope….. detailed many of these for clients. They’re all one piece wheel with no fake plastic face on the front.

How often do you go WOT aka "Italian tune up"?

I am the same way…. Get rolling and then WOT to get close to freeway speed by the time I’m merging in…. Mainly because California flatlanders are bat shit crazy drivers when it comes to freeways, and if you’re not using the long onramps like you’re coming out of a pit stop in a nascar race...

Back after a hiatus: 2018 Denali Build Thread

Always good to check that first! I have fired the parts cannon before checking for power continuity first many times lol. I really the Escalade mirror upgrade on this gen truck! Looks great!!

Back after a hiatus: 2018 Denali Build Thread

Weird that the turn signal LED isn’t working. That’s not an issue I’ve ever seen before. In all the trucks I’ve detailed for clients, or driven or been in, other functions stop working but not the turn arrow. Not to say it can’t happen obviously as yours did. Just weird. As much as it sucks to...

Back after a hiatus: 2018 Denali Build Thread

Should be a direct swap. All the SUVs from 2007- forward that have the buttons for the manual shift mode in the transmisison all have the same wire pigtail connector from what I’ve seen so far. I had a GMT900 Escalade shifter in my 2006 Denali XL for a couple years and then bought a shift handle...

    Autoride Rear shocks

Which generation are these shocks for? And also are they passive shocks or full electronic dampening autoride replacements?

    Power running board fix discovered

It’s funny that your first comment about the power running boards is that it’s a love/hate feature….. I’d agree in that theres no middle ground. As a detailer I absolutely hate them and I will never have them on a vehicle I personally own. I absolutely hate that on the GMT900s that have them...

Denali AWD to 2 speed 4wd Transfer Case Swap.

Really cool build! Great info on the 4WD swap! Can’t imagine many other Denalis out there without all wheel drive and 4WD instead. I sometimes wish I had a selectable 2 speed transfer case on my 2006 Denali for some of the weirdly deep snowstorms we get in my neck of the woods occasionally. It...

Thoughts on 25 Yukon Denali giant screen?

I honestly don’t understand why they decided to put a giant volume knob at the base of the screen. Ford has done the same in some of their setups and it looks terrible. I like having physical buttons but that’s not the way to go. One physical button in the middle of a touch screen, from a...

    06 Silverado Crew Cab Build

That’s hard to work with. I lived off a short dirt road for the first nearly 8 years of being out of my mom’s house. It was awesome but no garage or covered parking spot. Just a concrete pad to park on in front of the house so maintenance in winter was always a challenge. Not fun. lol. Had...

    Tonyrodz's Tahoe Build Thread

A few years back I had a leak at the master cylinder that was pretty bad. But we couldn’t tell if it was leaking from the master cylinder side or the hydro boost side. Close mechanic friend suggested I replace both since there was no point in replacing one only to find the leak was coming from...

    06 Silverado Crew Cab Build

Having a lift would be nice for sure. I daydream about my perfect garage with a lift and all haha. I did my drivers side CV axle a couple months ago as I had a torn outer CV boot. I have an intermittent popping sound happening during slow moving turns at more than half lock and I had read that...

Project Polar Bear: 2005 Suburban 2500

Nice build so far! Hopefully she treats you well but looks like she is already! Nice find on the LTZ racks…. That’s a rare truck and hard to find those racks. Can’t wait to see what they look like mounted up on the 2500! Not a lot of 2500 builds around these parts so definitely can’t wait to...

    GeorgeB’s 2013 Suburban LTZ “Fin”

I’m now on my second set of powerstop Z36 rotors and pads. I love them and haven’t had a single issue. They last a good long time which for me in the mountains and towing is great. Their pads make very little dust which I love. I can drive down off the mountain for a dance night and come home...

RENAMED!! The adventures of Chase and his 2006 Yukon XL Denali!! Follow along on my travels!

The silver esky I hit the yard up for yesterday had a cover in good shape with no cracks or chips in the paint so I grabbed it. Gave it a little wet sand a polish and it cleaned up nicely. Looks much better on the bumper cover that I had painted in 2021.

RENAMED!! The adventures of Chase and his 2006 Yukon XL Denali!! Follow along on my travels!

The lock cylinder cover on my rear bumper has seen better days….. lol…. It was a plain cover that I painted, like 7 or 8 years ago now probably.

Blown Rear Air Shocks on 2012 Yukon Denali – Is it Worth Fixing?

Unless you’re planning to lift or lower the vehicle it’s not worth converting to non air assisted rear shocks. It’s going to ride ok at best on standard suspension. Plus you would also need to swap the rear coil springs out if you’re going to convert to non air ride. GM engineered these vehicles...

Installing a Gauge Where OnStar Used to be

Looks like the OP’s pic is of a pre 2003 rig. I was under the impression on the pre 2003 rigs with the older interior and analog electrical system that if the cluster didn’t have a transmission temp gauge out of the factory, that it couldn’t be added afterwards and that adding the transmission...

    06 Silverado Crew Cab Build

crazy how the same paint codes can be different shades. When I lived with my youth pastor from growing up and his family, his wife had a 2004 xl Denali, in silver birch metallic just like my 2006 truck. Hers and mine big had the same paint code. And then the older brother who I lived up above...
