This is the reality of our day to day. Very short trips most days but usually a 30 mile trip or 2 to one of the rinks my son plays at. I haven’t had any issues. We get a decent amount of road trips in for summer vacation and hockey as well.
I think the big thing is if you’re literally just...
If keeping it that long, why not just try and snag a deal on any left over brand new 2024’s or a factory order 25? I know higher price but, won’t amount to much over 10 years.
My 2024 Yukon XL SLT mirrors sometimes go wonky too… I feel like the reverse mirror tilt and folding mirror combination is sort of the reason. Usually if I hold the memory button the settings will recall but sometimes it’s still off slightly.
Low end torque… it pulls very well at lower rpm’s…. Different than a gas engine. You’d need to test drive it to understand but these trucks rarely downshift on the highway unless you smash the pedal. Up and down moderate hills…. Very little downshifting.
I have the x-act liners for my F150. I like them too. Went with GMC liners on the Yukon XL… they’re ok. Not gonna be great in the middle of winter with snow/slush.
I’d encourage you to test drive. It’s not that bad but anyone saying acceleration is not a bit sluggish at highway speeds (when you mash the pedal) has a different view than me. It’s a great engine and has a ton of torque. The diesel pulls this thing like a champ. I have zero regrets especially...
Yeah I don’t even know where it came from. The tire wasn’t even scuffed. I knew it was a risk with these rims… the profile of the 22” gmc rim and tire sidewall is such that this was bound to happen. Never scuffed a rim in my 20+ years of driving.
This is my only complaint. My 2024 Yukon XL diesel is sluggish when you mash the pedal at highway speeds. It’s almost better if you keep the RPM’s mid-range.
Around town, accelerating to highway speed… lots of pep. But if you’re cruising at 60mph or a bit less on a single lane highway and you...
Yeah, I mean not sure the 22” wheels is the issue but rather the mud tires that are on it. That and a lift would have to be your culprit and would explain why your highway mileage is suffering.
Not to contradict you but I don’t know in what world I’d expect to get 26-27mpg in a V8 Chev Suburban. Maybe very flat, perfectly paved country roads doing 55mph…. But that is in no way a realistic highway number if you’re driving over 70mph.
I find people generally drive slow/normal in FL aside from the random maniacs but maybe it’s just me. Will be down in Fort Myers area in March so we’ll see how it goes on 75. Haven’t been down that way since Jan 2020.
I have hand calculated every tank over the first 8,000km (5,000miles) and the onboard computer is accurate within 0.1L/100km (0.2mpg) on every tank so far. I’m attributing this to the fact that the diesel fuel consumption just isn’t as volatile as the gas version and is more rangebound.
On my...
Thanks for the comments. Fyi to open the lift gate /hatch from the driver seat just press the centre of the dial that allows you to adjust how far the lift gate opens (near the garage door opener buttons)… took me a few weeks to figure that out lol
On that note, if you want all the interior...
Because I like having my fog lights on at night and it provides more light in front of the hood. There is nothing unusual about my issue and apparently it seems as though others feel the same. I’ve never owned a vehicle, let alone a $100,000 one, that has this kind of light/fog light/high beam...
Perfect thank you. Yeah just looking for a 90% of the way there job. Like you said, just trying to make it not noticeable from 5-10 feet away. Would you bother trying to spot sand it first? Either way I’ll give the rustoleum
a shot!
Not sure when and how but noticed this bit of curb rash on the gloss black wheels last night. Always knew it was a risk given the profile of the tire sidewall and how the rim spokes stick out.
Any tips on how to fix? It’s not a huge scrape. Can I spot sand and paint? What paint do I need?
