What is the VLOM?
My guess is the shop wouldn't able to tell it's the o-ring unless they dropped the pan? Would running the motor and spraying soapy water all around the oil pan to see if it bubbles be an option. This might sound really dumb, I'm no mechanic, but in my line of work we do this...
I think it was the fuel-pro, it was the only one they had. It looked the same as the one that came out.
I ended up taking it to a local shop because I’m going out of town for work and my wife needs to drive it. They said they put a gauge on it and had pressure matching what the sensor was...
So I replaced the oil cooler gasket. It still appears to be leaking a little. I’m wondering if I put it on the wrong way. The old one fell before I could see how it was on there and the new one was slightly thicker on one side of the metal core than it was the other.
Popped the cover off, looks fairly clean inside. I think your right, I think what tiny bit is in there is run off since it’s a low point. It’s only in the corner and a very time amount. Here’s a little better pic I think. From what I can tell it looks like maybe the leak is coming from the 2...
I defiantly think I'll monitor it a little better. It's my wife's ride so I kinda forget about it until she says something.
I did look under there today after cleaning it up yesterday, so it say for almost a full day. I did notice oil coming out from a cover (about the size of coke can...
Right not there is a puralator filter. Usually go by the computer for oil changes. I think I will be changing my own oil from now on. I typically use a FRAM filter, I forget which one, but it's the top of the line along with the red valvoline red max life.
I didn't see any signs of leaking...
Unfortunately I can't answer some of those. I had a shop replace the sensor the first time and under warranty the second time. I would like to think they confirmed this was the issue before replacing the sensor.
As far as miles into and oil change, it's always been towards the end of the oil...
My wifes Yukon just dropped oil pressure again. Got the turn off engine now warning. Replaced the pressure switch less than year ago, made it about a two weeks and it failed and when to zero pressure again. Replaced it and it's been going well until today.
Checked the oil, pretty sure it was...
Just curious if anyone has had someone replace the rear compressor and shocks. I was curious what I might expect to pay.
The issue is the compressor keeps kicking on. From what I've read it could be the compressor or shocks. I'm trying to figure out if I should replace just the shocks and see...
Had the big task of changing the passenger front turn signal. I also had the strange "What if I do a few mods?" conversation with myself, not sure how that's going to turn out yet.
Apologies for taking so long to respond. Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I ended up just replacing the battery. I actually upgraded from a 75 group to a 78 group, not that there is a huge difference, price was the same. Plus I figure it might come in handy if I decided put a sub in...
So my battery was dead again yesterday. My Tahoe usually only gets driven on the weekends and if I skip a weekend and don’t drive it the battery is dead the following weekend. So it appears it dies somewhere between every 8-14 days of sitting. Is this normal ? I should add when it’s dead I have...
The good ole hobby shop. I hung out there a few times in Germany trying to fix my mini cooper. Really wish they had a place like that in the civilian world. I even day dreamed if a place like the hobby shop on base could work in the civilian world. Nothing major just a couple bays with lifts...
Thanks again guys for all the fast responses, ya'll have truly been great help.
So it turns out that the previous wheels(aftermarket) were lug centric and I never noticed the wheel hub spacers were stuck to the hub. So I that is why the wheels, even though torqued, still wobbled and could not...
Thanks for the suggestions on other things to look for, I'll try to take some pics when I can but working on my day off limits my time, might be a day or so before I can get to it. I was able to get a torque wrench and torque them down and it the vibration still happened once I built up some...
I just checked the manufactures web site and I can't find if it says they are hub centric or not. Not sure if it makes a difference but they are factory replica wheels.
I don't actually have the factory lug nuts because when we purchased the car it already had aftermarket wheels.
I'm...
Thanks for he quick responses. I was kinda thinking the same things about the lock tight, i didn't really want to use it, I never have in the past. I'll stop at harbor freight tomorrow and pick up a torque wrench. I've typically just tighten the crap out of them, and check them with a torque...
So I just put on some new rims and tires. Took a drive about 18 miles round trip and had to stop 5 times to tighten the lug nuts. They were getting to the point i could take them off by hang. I'm just glad I was near an Auto Zone to buy a lug wrench or I would have had serious issues. He...
Thanks guys for all the input, I've been reading as much as I can in the last day or say, it's seems like a 6.0 swap is going to be a solid option. Ideally I think I'd like to find a decent low mileage 6.0 with 4L80e trans.
I figure rebuild it with some upgraded parts I should be able to come...
I probably should have added I'm not the smartest car guy, but I'm learning more every day, especially since hanging out here.
I think the main reason I want that much power is the fact that my wife has a 2012 Yukon Denali with the 6.2 and that thing is fun to drive, but she won't let me build...
