    Leaking Rear Main Seal?

20 years ago, I would have jumped into this project, but at 70, I am not up to pulling the tranny with the vehicle on jackstands. And being retired and on a fixed income, I can't afford to have a shop do it. Looks like I will just keep feeding it a quart of oil every month and deal with the...

    Leaking Rear Main Seal?

I can't see anything near the intake or upper rear of the block. The oil filter is clean and no oil near the block-off plate. There is a small amount of oil near the starter and the bolts holding the starter to the block. When I remove the inspection cover, there is oil on the rear of the...

    Leaking Rear Main Seal?

I will check that, but the oil seems to be coming from that hole between the pan and the bellhousing.

    Leaking Rear Main Seal?

2007 Yukon XL, 170k miles. Have a leak from the bottom of the engine. Cleaned it up and watched for leaks and it appears to be leaking between the engine block and the bellhousing. Guessing it is main seal?

Engine and Tranny Issues - Update in OP

My intention is to replace the more inexpensive components on the Yukon (plugs, wires, coil and injector) and see what happens. Worst case, I will do a teardown, as my warranty has long been expired. I just wanted to get a second opinion.

Engine and Tranny Issues - Update in OP

My son has a 2019 Sierra that had a Cyl 8 Misfire code. We replaced the injector, plug, plug wire and coil, with the same result. It is in the shop now getting new lifters :(

Engine and Tranny Issues - Update in OP

I have a 2007 Yukon XL with 160k miles. There are two issues: Tranny hard shifts from 1-2. I replaced the 1-2 accumulator with a Sonnax pinless accumulator. It decreased the frequency of the hard shift, but it is still happening about 40% of the time. When I replaced the piston, there was only...

    2007 Yukon XL Sagging Tailgate

It is a power tailgate. It will open when I press the fob or the button on the handle. I just won't stay open. It slowly droops to about half open. Once it starts drooping, the Close buttons won't work and I have to close it by hand.

    2007 Yukon XL Sagging Tailgate

Popped the tailgate yesterday and it opened fine, then started drooping until it was halfway closed. Do the struts need replacing, or this an actuator issue? Thanks

    Brake Controller Issues - SOLVED

On my 2003 Avalanche, the brake controller plugs into the relay panel under the dash. According to everything I have read, this is not an option for the 2007 Yukon. I have read that you have to find a bundle of wires under the dash and hard-wire it. I cannot locate this bundle of wires. Any...

    Weird Fuel Tank Issue

When I get down to about a 1/4 tank, the needle quickly drops to near empty (within 5 miles) and the low fuel light comes on. When I stop to refuel, and remove the gas cap, there is a lot of pressure coming from the tank. So much so, that you can't put any gas in the tank. It bubbles and...

    Random Stabilitrak/Traction Control lights

I have all of these issues. CEL is on, Brake System and Stabiltrak are on, no cruise control. I don't even know where to look, and the chime is driving my wife crazy.
