I agree with CrashTestDummy on this one. Replace inner / outer tie rod ends.... ball joints and upper control arms. See if that fixes whatever problems the vehicle is having.
Thanks guys! I guess I'm going to have to run down the dealer and have them hook it up. I DID find a TSB PIP4021B that refers to a high pitched whine coming from the transmission and it says it is the TCM calling for the solenoids to build up pressure and that it is a "normal" operation... BUT...
So did some more messing around with it today. When I pulled the underhood fuse #19 which is the transmission control fuse, the noise stopped. It HAS to be coming from the transmission... but WHAT inside the transmission would give off a high pitched squeal with only the key on but not...
So... I noticed the other day that when I turn the key to the "ACC" position, there is a very high-pitched, electronic-type ringing noise coming from the transmission area underneath. You can't hear it from inside the cab... only if you step outside. What in the world could be making such a...
Thanks! The deed has been done... was done this morning at the dealership. I understand that it is not brain surgery to replace the pump, but I've done a couple and just didn't feel like messing with it on my back in my garage this time.... once I got over fifty years, some jobs just don't...
With my old K5 Blazer (1986) it always got "regular unleaded" (because they only had regular or premium back then) from a Shell station near my house unless I was on a road trip and had to stop at a truck stop somewhere. As for the 02 Suburban it always got fed 87 octane from Quick Trip or...
Oh I've done one myself before. On the aforementioned 02 Suburban and on my friends Silverado. It's just a job that I don't care for. I just replaced the front hubs, tie rod ends, rotors and brakes on this thing in my garage last month.... I would rather do that front end replacement job...
Thanks guys! Don't want to spend the money of course, but I just don't trust GM fuel pumps past a certain age. It's really too bad that I have ran a Honda and an old Toyota truck past 260K and never had to think about fuel pumps, but here I am at this crossroad with GM. :(
So, I had a K5 Blazer back in the day in which the fuel pump died at 130K miles. I was pulling a trailer full of furniture and it almost got me killed on the highway when it died... had to have the whole mess towed to a dealer nearby to get fixed. I had a 2002 Suburban with 145K miles that had...
Thank you for the replies guys! I went ahead and installed the Moog coils. They actually feel better than the originals I took off. As for airlift 1000 bags, I had them in the rear of an Excursion I used to tow heavy with... they were good for the first year or so, but then the annoying leaks...
I just did this job. Getting that connector off was the hardest part for me.... that and having to lay across the engine. That black tab in your video slides UP about 1/2 inch. It exposes a small button or detent if you will that you have to press VERY hard while also pulling up on the plug...
So I bought a 2010 Tahoe LT 4WD. It says in the build sheet as well as in RPO codes that I have the "Smooth Ride Package"... ZW7. Also has the "Towing Package" Okay...
I am trying to stiffen up the rear for towing purposes so I looked into replacing the rear suspension. It did not come with...
Bit of advice on the winch bumper /winch combo. I've run winches on every truck, 4Runner, Suburban and Excursion that I've owned. If you put a bumper and winch on your Tahoe, you will lose 3/4 to 1 inch of ride height. Depending on the ride softness of the springs you put on for a lift kit...
