As much as I hate to do it, I need to lower the Tahoe to make it easier for my wife to load the kids. It currently has a spacer in the front and rear. I want to start with removing the spacers and level the rear. I’m thinking either 20s or 22s. I’d like the wheels to be even with the fender...
Has anyone ever replaced these? What are the pros or cons with different brands. I don't mind spending the money if ill get a better product but if the cheaper ones do the job...
Is there any real differences in the brands or are they all pretty much the same. eBay has some off brands for $28 and the moog ones run about $55.

I have an 07 Tahoe Z71. The PO installed a top strut spacer and i’d like to remove it and install bilstein 5100 shocks. My question is will I need a new strut mount if they cut the original mounting studs. I also plan setting them at the highest level. TIA.
I did all the upgrades at once. Deleted the DOD/AFM and installed the stage 2 .600 lift cam. Not sure i lost any bottom end torque but i do wish it would be better. It pulls really good when i get on it. The tuner adjusted the shift points to help with getting it in the right RPMs when it...
I had originally thought about that but wasn't for sure so i just went with it. I'll switch it around and see of that helps. Thanks
My other issue is its crazy loud. 1 3/4 longtube headers and cat-less y pipe into 18" magna flow muffler. I need to figure out how to quieten it down. I thought...
If it consistently sits b/w 200-210 while towing a 5500lb trailer can’t be good. And if it gets to 210 or higher I’d like it to be able to cool quicker.
I have an 07 Tahoe 5.3L AFM/DOD deleted with stage 2 TS cam. Circle D 2600 300mm converter. I installed an aftermarket cooler and when towing my camper I'm still getting temps close to 210. If I were to bypass the factory cooler in the radiator would it help keep the temps down.
No vids. It’s running good. I’ve put about 5k miles on it so far and I’ve towed three trailers. One weighing about 5500 lbs. The exhaust it a little loud but t sounds mean. Averaging around 12-13 mpg.
I just went down this same road. If you just bought it, drive it for a while and keep an eye on oil consumption. If it doesn’t burn oil then just leave it. I was burning to much oil for my liking and decided to delete AFM. When I got down to the short block I ended up pulling it and having it...
Sent short block and heads to machine shop. Replaced bearings. Polished crank, installed cam and timing chain. Had heads rebuilt with new valve seats, seals and springs installed for under $1600.
I just had my 243 heads redone and it should not cost that much. New valve seats, seals, and install/shim new springs. i think it was around 200-300. If you have them off you should ask a good shop what they charge...
I did the complete opposite. I had a 3 bolt originally and ordered a new one that used only two bolts. You can choose to add a 3rd bolt but not really needed.
I also do not recommend flushing a trans that’s never had a flush before. Just drain replace filter and refill is all that’s needed. I would not let this keep me from buying as long as it shifts fine now.
I went with a 3” single in/out 18” magnaflow muffler with 3” tubing. I’m liking it more and more. Has a deep growl at idle but opens up at WOT. No real noise cruising at 75. Maybe a little from the headers.
My schedule didn’t allow me to take it to the dyno. I got a tuner to do it locally. Works at Steve’s Automotive in Saucier MS. He used HPtuner. Deleted AFM, changed shift points and line pressure. Changed a bunch of stuff I don’t know about. Air. Timing. Idle. It idles and runs really good...
I’ve deleted DOD/AFM and installed a new stage 2 TSP cam. I installed AFP poly mounts and only notice a slight vibration but the trade off is well worth it. Very we’ll constructed but I would choose to paint my self.
The tuner suggested that I plug in the old plate. Can’t take credit for that one. Texas speed said its backfiring due to AFM and not being tuned yet. Should be getting it tuned next week. Hopefully.
