    Experience with Dobinsons rear coils?

Not yet. Ended up getting a newer Tahoe as the daily. Will be coming back to in a few months though.

What's actually included with the Max Trailering Package?

Thanks! We're getting there. We shuttle our boys around for football so we see plenty of white ones in our community. While the Z71 trim helps, we're scheming of some simple striping/graphics. Just need to come up with something that doesn't look like trash.

What's actually included with the Max Trailering Package?

Thanks all! We weren't planning to buy another Tahoe this summer, but here we are. I wasn't really up to speed with all the features so the input is greatly appreciated. Ended up with a white CPO '21 Z71. It's very clean, fully loaded and we got the price down to where we wanted, so we're just...

What's actually included with the Max Trailering Package?

Was looking at gmpartswarehouse and there are two different radiators. One is for heavy duty cooling, the other isn't. I guess one has a higher capacity, surge/expansion tank is the same. Couldn't easily tell what else. Looks like the rear is minimally stiffer springs. There are springs listed...

What's actually included with the Max Trailering Package?

My wife and I are currently looking for a 2021 or 2022 Tahoe. We tow a TT and a boat multiple times a year. I've only seen general info about the Max Trailering Package. What do they mean by extra cooling capacity? Is the radiator bigger or the reservoir? Also what do they mean by suspension...

    Bad alternator?

Thanks. Will keep that in mind. My only change was the alternator and it's the first time I've had this issue. Forgot to add that it kicked on a service charging system message. I drove the vehicle (sans trailer) this morning keeping it in first and second, along with 3-2 drop, no issue. Gonna...

    Bad alternator?

I monitor my gauges pretty regularly since I generally pull several grades while towing as well as run through desert sections. I've not noticed anything that extreme. Prior to that stop I had many gear drops to 2nd over the course of a few hours as I battled a head wind. There was minimal if...

    Bad alternator?

While towing my TT home on Saturday, my alternator started making a terrible noise. Like a blender eating itself. Out of a fear of being stranded on a hwy in BFE I decided to locate one and replace it. It failed the two checks on the Vatozone scanner. Note, I did not observe any erratic readings...

    There's a 2008 6.0L from a 2500 available for $800 near me...

I went with HP tuners, had a friend help get it to start (startup air) and then took it too a dyno shop (still debating whether or not I wasted money on that). If you have the time, you can do it yourself with HP tuners (their forum is good resource). Patience is needed for something like this...

Sure. If he swaps the cam though, eliminating VVT, then some amount of tuning will need to be done regardless. At that point it doesn't matter too much.

    There's a 2008 6.0L from a 2500 available for $800 near me...

Dang. That's a killer price. I paid $2500 with shipping from IL for my junker LY6 (08 2500). It came from a junkyard that "tested" it. Tore it down to the short block and sent the heads to a machine shop. Been great for two years so far. You end up reaching out to the seller?

    DOD / AFM delete parts

I went with a Brian Tooley Racing kit a couple years ago. It was only missing a couple gaskets. I forget which, but they were easy to get last minute. I did an engine swap, so my needs may be a little bit different than what yours are. Texas Speed also has a kit. Should be able to chat with a...

    Experience with Dobinsons rear coils?

I have too, specifically when I had my 4runner. They were a company that regularly came up when suspension upgrades were discussed. Thanks for the name, I've seen that company mentioned before, but couldn't remember them. Custom was another route that I was considering. How much did you pay for...

    Experience with Dobinsons rear coils?

I'm currently running a 4" BDS lift with the rear shocks and spring spacer that came with the kit. Springs are currently from Cargo Maxx. Compared to the front end, the parts for the rear feel like an afterthought. Does anyone have any experience with the coils from Dobinsons? Looks like there...

    Trans temp gauge

My transmission and convertor are FUBAR. Transmission guy couldn't even take everything apart because parts are melted together. Is the radiator you have the drop in replacement one, or a universal one?

    Trans temp gauge

My Tahoe is running a tune via HPTuners as well. Who worked on your tune? Anyone from the HPTuners forum? Also, how is the mishimoto radiator? Is it drop in? I somewhat cleaned out my trans cooler lines and noticed a bunch of metal bits. Am going to pull the current radiator to flush, and am...

Never heard of that, looks interesting. Are you using one? Does it stay plugged in?

    Trans temp gauge

Anyone add a trans temp gauge to the A pillar or elsewhere on the dash? Or have a good link to what someone else has done? I fried my transmission to ring in the new year, and I'd like to avoid it in the future if possible. I generally monitor temps (long trips and towing) through the gauge...

    2012 tahoe engine swap 5.3 to 6.0

Check onallcylinders.com for engine specs. I swapped my LMG out last year for an LY6, that site was extremely helpful in identifying differences. In my instance, LMG injectors flow better than those in an LY6, so I had them rebuilt and flow tested to use in the LY6. Outside of that I also...

Frame stripping and sway bar link advice

An air hammer would be good in the big areas. Compressor will be running non-stop! I've used different types of wire wheels as well, but they can get gunked up and fling that crap everywhere. That's why I like the putty knife or scraper to take care of bulk removal. Makes clean up easier too...

Frame stripping and sway bar link advice

I've been doing the undercarriage on mine a section at time. Depends on what I'm working on. That stuff is nasty. My focus is always somewhere else so I don't have an exact process dialed it. Generally speaking though, I always resort to stiff blade putty knife and then simple green as the last...
