The valve body and pump mods were dome when the build was done. TKR won't build one without the modifications, I'd have to double check but I'm 99% sure the valve body was replaced as well due to wear on the old one (was also modified)
As far as verifying the electrical part of it, that's...
TPS is smooth and corelation between pedal and TB looks good. MAF at idle is about 8 grams and goes up from there. I do tend to use MAF cleaner every 50-75k miles or after it sits.
Slip speed though is more than 10 RPM. I am tuned so tcc only locks above 4th. But it slips by much more than...
Great info, thank you. Valve body has had any corrections and improvements made. The entire trans was built as much as it can be. It had 100k on it when pulled for a previous built converter failure (had 100k on it as well) where the hub broke and splines stripped.
The trans has all new...
So 2016 LS, trans has about 8k on it built by TKR Transmission (Tim King Racing) with a billet 4 clutch PATC converter. On my way home from work the other day I noticed it slipped out of lockup so I manually dropped it to 4th and finished getting home. Temps didn't exceeded 170 thankfully. So...
Forgot to update this thread, but it was in fact the converter that failed. Hub cracked out and the splines stripped which would explain the horrible whining metal noise. Screenshot attached for proof. I did go ahead and have the trans refreshed since it had 100k on the build but everything...
Images are not wanting to upload. Ill edit with a link once I get them up elsewhere.
Pan images
Got the pan down today and the scanner on it before hand. Only have a P0872 code stored at the moment and I was seeing 0 pressure on trans PIDs. Pan and was clean and fluid is nice and red but...
No clue why it loaded a blank quote but whatever, the description of what was going on at the time of failure was accurate. The beating on for 90K miles does not mean that every single drive was balls to the wall with a neutral drop or power braking... Again I do not launch it my running and...
Got to get the cheap converter it needs to be on the road. I have work, my wife has work and we have 4 kids to tote around for band and football season. I can have the cheap one at the door within 24 hours of my order and have it in next day.
As far as the trans its a full build for 1k plus...
It used to be that way but modern cars have everything on CAN networks talking to each other and if a module fails it can potential drag down every other module with it until it is replaced. It can make for fun diag work. I work in heavy equipment and its the same way in that field now as well...
So back 3 years or so ago and 90K miles ago my stock converter did its thing and took a crap and I lost everything but 1st and 2nd. Now I have a full built trans from TK performance and a billet 4 carbon fiber clutch converter that I have really beat on for the last 90K miles. The tahoe has a...
Have been thinking going this way when my 5.3 dies. Glad im not the only one. Engine bolted up to existing fame mounts? If so thats the part I was most concerned about. We have 4 2022-2023 2500s at work with the 6.6 I use daily and they do great other than on gas mileage. If the TB wont play...
Ah ok. Well I would pull the manifold first then fight the xmas tree clips in the back of the cover just to have that extra wiggle room to work with and get back there.
That would be a good plan. Its cheap and simple and even if minimal gains the noise is worth it. I will say though do not remove the beauty cover with the manifold. Getting to the clips for the harness sucks and will just piss you off. Pull the 4 10mm bolts holding it to the manifold after...
got a link you could post or send me? or is the channel in their name? Id love to go look. NVM I found it.
Watching they did that with no tune. But 10HP with no tune isnt awful. Its far less than a CAI setup that will give no more with a tune. The extra noise is nice as well. Would have...
Thing is if it was the converter then a whole tranny would be best as the metal from it will get into everything and ensuring its all out and clean is difficult even when trying to do it well.
Lol glad you got a giggle out of that. But yeah forgetting is still a tech screw up. Accidents happen though and even the best make mistakes. Its all in how they handle it. Looking forward to updates on how this ends up going.

Water in the headlamp and related wiring can cause that code.
Other things may cause it as well. The valvtronic junk is for BMW engines. On any other vehicle including GM its basically saying a accessory...
Agreed with this. 1/2 quart wont cause running issues at all. Most are that low to start with after a service till warmed up to check and fill to level.
A tech screwed up and cost you a trans it was way low or empty. You would not be a Karen/Kyle to pull the you touched it last card on this...
Ok 2 dyno charts posted from others who tested the swap. One is a test of the just 6.2 TB swap and then the 6.2 TB and intake, the other is a graph of the MSD atomic VS the 6.2 when swapped on a 5.3. Also posted link is to a thread where someone was doing a ton of testing and proving what was...
No dyno local I would love to have done a before and after. I am fully tuned via blackbear. I am awaiting my update for the intake right now they have the new datalog so it should not be much longer before I have it.
Overall though I think I have $200 in this swap and maybe 30 minutes of...
Cover is still on itll bolt right up. Its not a big difference but there is a difference. Id have to find the dyno charts again but swapping the l86 onto the l83 gives practically the same gains as swapping to a aftermarket manifold such as the MSD atomic manifold.
Also its the L86 throttle...
