So I changed my engine. I had a misfire at first. Got that figured out. Had a knock sensor code that zi clear it. (Do you torque your sensor? I did, even the old engine had same issue. Installed new sensors). Any way issue is that it starts cold just fine. When hot it will crank no...
Good news. I called tge Mechanic that took $400 to tell me that i need a new engine and told him about the valve cover fix and the manager said that they will give me back all the money but $100.
It was a used car dealership. One time I took a old chevy pick up for ac work and they did $400 dollars work to it and it worked for a week. when i took the truck back they replaced the compressor for free because they give you 30 dsys warranty. Ither time i took my Prius to Toyota dealership...
It appears to be working. And this is why it didn't work just cleaning the old one. I think i sprayed 20 cans of advance auto carb cleaner bottles in there and there still was stuff there to clog the litter drain hole right under the nipple for the hose. Just wish I could get the $408 back...
I did get the oil out Saturday, it was good until Tuesday when the smoke came back. Since then i have installed the oil catch cans and smoke went away. Today I installed the new cover and the catch can catch very little, maybe just the residue from the hose. I think that is the fix. Will...
I i think is said that the cheaper one said it does not fit my 06 tahoe. And i clicked on the button that woud find the one for mine truck and that one came. Yes it's dorman branf
This is 32 miles of driving and i think that this is just the residue from the house. I think my problem has been solved with the $140 part from Amazon. Thanks for all your input.
This was just going to work and back. More than yesterday. But this one was 2 cold starts but onlt 26 miles bouth ways. Cant wait to see how it will do with the new redesigned valve cover. I was thinking that just buying new original cover would work because it worked for 200000 miles. I...
Last Saturday I took off the intake manifold as it was full of oil. Washed it and re installed. Everything seemed fine Sunday, Monday, Tuesday didn't drive it much. Tuesday after work it smoked a tiny bit. This morning I took a borescope and looked in to cylinder 6 it was wet on top, the...
Well. I looked inside the cylinder with a camera and found that oil is coming from the top of head somewhere. Hard to tell but top of cylinder head is wet and you can see oil at the head gasket area. I think if i redo my heads and the gasket that will solve my problem
I have a new symptom. Last night when I started the truck white smoke came out but when i gave it gas the smoke changed in to dark gray or black smoke, definitely dark in color,. Any ideas?
What about the oil in intake problems with the ls engine. I got the borescope today and looked down my intake and there is a pool of oil in there. What do you guys think about cleaning out the intake and installing oil catch cans. Cuz I'm thinking that the car is only 95% of times it only...
What do you guys think about this. If the oil is getting in the cylinder on start up that would mean that when car is shot off the cylinder should stay dry untill start up at which point oil gets past the rings untill it gets hit and seals again. So I just got a borescope from amazon. So if i...
I was also waching videos that said the driver side valve cover is the problem. The intake for the pcv . Tge new cover was desined with intake hole moved far4back and from round to square. When i took off the cover everything there was cover in brown burnt oil. I did clean the cover realy...
It dosent make sense, with all the smoke i get on start up. It got to drip down from heads cuz when you shot off the engine the oil cant just drip up in to the cylinder. Should i gamble on the heads and change them?
The mechanic was saying that the oil ring may be gummed up and sticking to piston and some how that makes the oil go by in start up. But as soon as it gets warm it starts working as it should. I was waching some videos on YouTube about soking the pistons in trans fluid, or injector cleaner or...
