But just wanted to pass on a deal I stumbled onto. AC Delco is having a rebate on Iridium spark plugs right now. I was going to get them (41-162) from Rock Auto but I used a 25% off at Advance to make them about the same price and get...
I haven't yet but to make the 5100's more plausible I came across "shock extenders" for the rear where it lowers the shock mount. That essentially makes the longer shock less of a bottoming out problem. I'm still very interested in King's or Fox's but don't think the cost difference is worth...
I got mine changed today. The dealer didn't have it in stock but only took them 2 days to get. Once they got it in stock I came in and it took them 2.5hrs on the dot to complete.
There's a ton of suspension threads for our PPV's already but I haven't seen anyone talking about off road suspension for our PPV's without lifting.
My shocks are worn out and in need of replacement so I may not have the best baseline to go off of. There's a ton of threads about harsh rides...
Sorry just saw your reply, just started a new job and have been busy. But anyway I really love the retrofit. They haven't missed a beat and like Geoffsfas10 said it really makes a big difference. I didn't notice how bad the stock lights were until I was driving on some windy roads at night...
OEM + is the best, your setup looks great! I did the same and kept the tails OEM Tahoe and just added LED bulbs to them. BUT I love the sequential 3rd brake light you have. Did you do that or bought it that way. The only way to make it even nicer IMO would be to have the sequential go the...
Thanks I'll try that app! I know it seems like a negligible swap but if you hear a stock Yukon or Escalade it deff has more beefy startup than a stock 5.3L Tahoe.
Even if I decide to swap the muffler later having the 3.5" perfect bend tubing is priceless imo. The biggest part of an...
I got it for less than the SLP to put it into perspective. The hangers are all in the same spot so the catback will hang there, just have to get the pipe size to match.
I just wanted the exhaust marginally louder at idle/driving than stock but don't want it to sound like an aftermarket...
I found a super cheap OEM early Escalade catback and scooped it up. The early Escalade exhaust is slightly louder than the later ones and are bigger diameter than the stock 5.3L tubing. I didn't want the exhaust too loud since it's a family hauler.
That said I'm not sure what direction I want...
Those Osram's are really good bulbs for sure but like you said the stock headlights can only do so much. The projector swap really helps get the light out there.
And thanks, when I had it done I told them OEM+ only lol. Halo's and all that can look good on the right car but I didn't want...
So I guess we all know how much the 07-14 Tahoe headlights suck. I had mine retrofitted and couldn't be happier, even did the fog lights to match! This isn't me in the video but my truck.
Oh and I went with the Piaa Si Tech frameless Silicon wipers because I've heard so many things about them over the years and they had fitment for our weird clips. I like them but don't at the same time.
They clean fine but sometimes they squeak for a min or two. There doesn't seem to be any...
I found out a lot of info on those when changing the blades on my Tahoe. The first pair I bought had J hooks and when I went over to the truck to install them I was shocked to see a different style. Found out the PPV/SSV's use a non J hook like the earlier models but use thicker/beefier arm...
Thanks guys! I'll update when I find more for sure. A huge cam can sound awesome but for our trucks I really don't want to kill the low end because it's just a daily for me. I'll look into the Crane as well thanks!
One of the next projects I have planned for my 2012 Tahoe is a cam. I've been looking at BTR or Texas Speed cams and saw that BTR has a new Truck Torque cam that sounds interesting.

It's new and I...
They both are the same contour that closely follows the body lines but 3160B has holes drilled in the side of the middle section and the 5160 is solid. They say that makes the 5160 stronger but I doubt it does much if anything in the real world.
I will say if you center section only I think...
Just installed mine over the weekend from the OP's deal! I'm waiting for my BB tune now w/ the intake and gear swap but I love the sound of it at least so far.
