Oil recommendation for 2014 Tahoe PPV

Just turned over 42,000 miles on my 2014 Tahoe PPV. I want to go ahead and change the oil tomorrow before taking it on a long road trip.

What do you guys recommend that I use? I was thinking of taking it to Pennzoil or just doing it myself and using Pennzoil full synthetic whenever I change the oil. Is this a good idea or should I use something else? Thanks in advance.

Im at 92k and i use walmart supertech full synthetic.

Pretty much any full synthetic is about as good as you can possibly do. The more important factor is changing it as needed. For me, that's about every 5,000 miles.

Also, I'm a fan of Pennzoil Platinum and I use 10W-30. Well, I did before I switched to Rotella Diesel oil.

I normally use either Mobil1 or Rotella Gas both 5w30 Dexos Full Synthetic.

I've seen claims of "dexos' being on the bottle not necessarily meaning anything. That just means they pay gm to put it on there. So you could have a equal and/or higher quality oil without the labeling, because they don't want to pay to have the logo on there.
Lately I've been buying house brand full synthetic. I forget who they told me it's made by.

For Dexos to be on the Label the oil co. must pass the standards of that GM Dexos standards. Oil companies cannot just put Dexos on the label since that is a trademarked name. This may happen in some obscure foreign country but not in USA....

In looking at the list of oils that meet Dexos standards, I’m surprised that you can find one that’s not Dexos approved.
