I’d also consider an on-board in the engine compartment but it would best go where my second battery is.
I have to admit for the couple of years my wife had her 06 Envoy Denali, that feature made me keep asking myself why GM didn’t put it into the bigger trucks.
No need to reply but I’ll also assume the obvious that reprogramming and a new battery didn’t help.
My next thought is also outside radio interference. When I went to school at Seattle University my fob wouldn’t work from more than about an arm’s length from the driver’s door / hood. Worked...
I was lead to believe the VVT and cylinder deactivation / AFM were both introduced in 2010.
Did all 2009 GM 6.2l engines have VVT or was that specific to GMC (& I assume Cadillac)?
I agree.
Even if the sensor is functioning, it might be possible that it slid out of the mount bubble and is just far enough down that it can sense light, but only if very direct. If you can easily get to it there may be value just seeing if it’s loose or low.
I didn’t sand them down as much as smoothed them out. I felt the new “door” sealed it enough that it didn’t have to be perfect.
I used the filter I got with the kit and GM filters. It is an awkward bend to insert but fine.
Was using the AC just fine today, but made a stop and when I got back to the truck and started it up I couldn’t feel anything from the vent. As I started driving I could feel cold air being pushed through “ram jet”-style and the rear AC feels cold.
Does the fan have it’s own fuse or is this...
I also did this mod on both the Tahoe and Suburban, but had better luck using a brand new blade on a utility knife than cutting open the hole with the Dremel. I did use a Dremel to finish the project eventually, but just for cleaning-up the edges.
I had to remove three 7mm bolts on the knee...
The other question I have is what are you trying to accomplish?
Are you just trying to “replace” the enter console a regular Tahoe would have? I assume the lower dash will integrate fine with it or another PPV owner would have mentioned that.
If you’re just looking for cup holders and an arm...
I still want to know why GM hasn’t designed Suburbans and bigger Silverados like trains and ships have been designed for decades.
A small diesel engine that runs all the time to power electric AWD and all the surplus power you need. It would even be a back up generator for your house.
With...
I had a 2’ shorter toy hauler that I initially towed with my 2002 Tahoe. Yes, the engine was part of the issue but stability isn’t dictated by the engine. I didn’t recognize how bad it was until my Tahoe was in the body shop and I needed to get something to tow the trailer to get winterized and...
I thought I had read a post or two on here that really liked the Powerstop rotors, but separately suggested against something of theirs.
If I remember one had some rusting on the calipers and the other didn’t like the response from the pads included in the kit. Did your buddy get the red...
So I did a few searches and found lots of discussions about what people with 18”-20+” rims are doing to upgrade braking systems on Tahoes/ Yukons & Suburban 1500s, but couldn’t find anything on 2500’s nor what anyone is doing with 17” rims (without adding spacers) … so I’m posting up the ask.
I...
And my 2009: 6.2L w/ 4WD
I’d say the same for my 2010 2500 Sub but it’s cost me from major AC work … but it did justify replacing the dash since it was off anyway
I think this may be part of the answer: demographic biases.
I think there is a higher percentage of owners on here vs. “the average Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban owner” who:
1) Internationally purchased the 6.2L for the power;
2) Do their own work, and thus look up and share more hints & woes; and
3)...
Further on the ‘02; it wasn’t even 3g, it was analog. There was never an upgrade available to make it compatible with any currently operating cellular networks.
The OnStar module is behind the passenger-side dash and can be removed. When I pulled mine out of my old ‘02 I installed a HAM radio...
That was my experience with Optima yellow tops in the early 2000s. My 02 Tahoe had yellow tops (eventually dual yellow tops) that lasted almost 8 years first round, 4 or 5 on the second round, and just out of warranty the last time before I got the 09.
Manufacturer quality is not the same...
I’m happy in pothole-prone Washington with 17” rims on both my 09 Tahoe 6.2L and my 10 Suburban 2500. I would like better brakes, but between potholes and having one daughter on the other side of Snoqualmie Pass keeps me in chain-ready rims.
Did you do the A-posts / upper leading edge of the front doors and the leading portion of the roof? That’s where my last 3 vehicles all picked up chips (with clear bra installed in the traditional spots).
I’m not advocating clear bra the whole truck, but roadway surfaces aren’t maintained like...
Wow. My 02 dash (and whole truck) went away at 18 years with an intact dash and no leaks in the headlights. Saw many 900s with fogged headlights & taillights though mine have been free of that (except for an aftermarket set).
I’m asking more than stating, but did the GMT900 series dashes start cracking within the first 3 years?
My 2010 was already cracked when I got it in 2018, but my 2009 was still good in 2019.
And my 2002 went to the salvage yard with all of its interior plastics intact and no leaks in the...
