Correct, problem was not a symptom of any change. All has been there for some time driving off and on, not my daily, waiting for time to work on it between other work. Always have something to work on here.
Noid light on injector 5 was flashing at steady pace without problem and when plugged back in the miss decreased again by half of what was evident when unplugged. Time to start shopping AFM delete kits with a tune I’m guessing
Thanks for breaking down your testing methods and recommendations as well as why compression test may give false hope.
I feel it’s definitely heading in the direction of bad lifter. My main concern with full AFM delete and cam swap would be knowing the remaining engine life warrants the cost...
I was able to find the crankcase relearn in the innova 5610 today completed and drive 20 minutes no change. Also, valves would open and close seen in borescope. Unfortunately it doesn’t turn enough for good view of their seated position
Could it be not enough intake valve opening due to cam lobe and pulling fuel? We may find out. I am waiting on a noid light and may be out of other options to check
All the injectors, plugs, and wires were replaced, gave a rundown of all the usual suspects have been swapped then replaced and am down to wiring other than what has been shot or internal failures
Ran a cheap poor resolution borescope down #5 and could see most piston head with seemingly little carbon build up and no visible damage. Ran crank over and both valves came out and reseated.
Definitely looking up CASE relearn and checking if I have capability. I have had battery removed for long periods of time between maintenance, even tried throttle body relearn by cycling key on off 3 minutes on/60 off 3 times then idle for 5 min and drive cycle?? Don’t know if correct but...
Will see about checking deeper into harness if I can find the schematic, shooting power and ground at injector harness and coil were solid? If I find connector and pins on ECM I could take off and shoot Ohm readings looking for jumping around when wiggling harness wear worn. Got noise light for...
Definitely a miss at idle with small engine shake and P0305. Oil Pressure is always good. Changed sending unit about 18 months back. Checking remaining diag options without a 2-4K scan tool before inspection of cam/lifter
Thanks for the suggestions; I have been shooting power with disconnected connectors but will check for needle probes around my garage or order a set to test while running. Also, ordered noid light test kit as I am was out in Wyoming and part stores have no loaner tools.
I have an Innova 5610...
Cylinder #5 TDC leak down test only 4% leak rate out rings, could hear only through the oil cap. So other than a borescope in the hole I think I may be down to having to pull everything back off including valley cover to see if I can inspect the Cam lobe for wear?
Just looked over wiring and checked for power and ground to the main coil pack disconnect, had both there with key on engine off. Shot for continuity from coil #5 connector back to main coil pack connector and all wires were solid there. Also 12V was solid at first injector connector. I did find...
Correct no movement on any rocker up down off push rod, just side to side and every one has that when not on compression. No loose or stuck lifters and #5 not a AFM/DOD lifter
Hello, 2012 Suburban 198,000 miles Vin 7 LC9 5.3 completely stock config and parts having P0305 CYLINDER 5 misfire with misfire felt at idle and smooths out under throttle. Recently began also seeing P219A. Under idle and cold temps in Wyoming the traction control will alert and turn off until...
I have a sound that changes with speed coming from the drivers side. Tried replacing the hub assembly on stock 2003 Suburban Z71 and found lower rear bolt stripped, may have helped it a little more. Torch and vice grips didn’t work. Any suggestions?
I was changing my oil when I noticed the lower left bell housing by the oil filter was missing a bolt! I had previously replaced an inspection cover as well. I purchased last year and now wonder if this transmission is not the original? Anyway to easily check?
